Hi guys...I have a guy who wants $40 for an unopened Box of 1991 Topps Archives Baseball, which reprints the 1953 Cards I believe? Worth it? I have no idea what these cards are worth.

That's probably on the normal to high end for unopened boxes of that. It never became a big collectible, but has lots of nice reprints--Mantle, Robinson, Berra, Mays--and cards that never were--Williams, Hank Aaron, Snyder. Big singles like Mantle or Williams can go $5-10. Possibly buy the set for less, but it's fun to open the packs! You'd get close in completing the set, because if you open it, you will pull some extras. I have some singles (and need two cards for my set!) so I could possibly help there.

I have a set with some extras and a complete box as well. Mine was 35 so it's about right. Maybe we can all help each other out after you rip your box?

Theres a lot of Auto'd cards on E-Bay. So I imagine there is?
No, there were no certified autographs in the '91 Topps Archives '53 set.
The cards you see on eBay were signed either in person or through he mail.

I only have one in my collection. It is a BGS 8.5 Ted Williams with a piece of GU bat...picked it up on eBay for $13.

No autographs. No inserts. No paralells. Just the set. Like 1991 Stadium Club. That was the selling point that these were reprints made with the Stadium Club "technology" so they were superior to other reprint sets from the past. But the set is 53 Topps, so that's pretty cool alone.

Oh, and when they did Archives for the 1954 set, I belive they had Hank Aaron rookie reprints autographed randomly inserted, and when they did a Dodgers Archives (1994? 95? Off the top of my head, so I'm not certain.) they had Koufax reprints autographed. Too bad they didn't have any autographs for the 1991 '53 set, but that wasn't the trend at that time.

Three Mantles? Wow, that would have been insane back in 91! They were getting $20-25 out of the box then. I have these cards for your set:

36, 123, 128, 142, 202, 205, 223, 240, 245, 263, 265, 299, 323, 324, 329, 336. On the checklist (I have #336 for you) they note where a certain card is not in the set--because permission was not given to use a player's likeness, or it doesn't exist) So cards 174, 253, 261, 267, 268, 271, 275 can come off your list. PM me your address, and I can get these out to you. Somehow, I knew you wouldn't get any extras of Robinson or Feller!
