I screwed up. I am helping my daughter sell some pants. I priced the shipping medium box priority for 8 bucks Way too low. It will end up costing us to sell them! I will eat it if I have to but is there another way to ship quickly for a little less. Thanks

Priority.

a 2lb box would cost $5.04 through eBay/Paypal Shipping.

Priority mail costs vary depending on where you are and where the package is going. I live in NJ, and shipping a 2 lb package to another NJ location costs $5.04, but to CA that same package costs $9.62. I'm guessing a pair of pants doesn't weigh more than 2 lbs, so you can go regular priority if the buyer is close to you. If not, you can try a Priority Legal Flat Rate Envelope (envelope is available at your local PO for free) that costs $5.10, assuming the pants can fit in there. As long as you can seal the envelope using just the adhesive on the envelope (no tape) it will be $5.10. If you have to use tape, they'll charge you by weight.

Also the Tyvek envelopes are not flat rates, they go by weight.

P.S. THe prices above are for online postage. If you buy postage at the PO, rates are slightly higher.

Yeah I have about 50 of those and use them often. They aren't Tyvek and also not available at any PO (you can only order those online), and shouldn't be confused with the tyvek ones given out at PO's, as those aren't flat rate.

put items in a box, get an ACTUAL WEIGHT. Go to USPS.com and use the online rate calculator and look over the chart of the various rates for various classes (first class parcel, parcel post, etc). Saved over $3 yesterday alone mailing a 9 oz package first class parcel than parcel post and about $4 over had I decided on Priority Mail instead.

avoid the ripoff flat rate priority mail boxes - there is a reason the USPS pushes them so hard - big profit makers for the USPS! You have to ship items very dense for their volume to make a priority mail flat rate box cheaper to ship something in than shipping something based on actual weight. 5 lb scales are cheap.

Update- mailed the items last Monday. ( the 17th) I used a priority envelope cost me right at 5.50-6.00 dollars each. I did a partial refund on shipping for the buyers. So everyone should wind up happy. Thanks for the help
