I can see why these guys that own "Rize" would need to comply with Brian's terms that they refrain from using Leaf in the title but it is ridiculous to think that I, or anybody else, couldn't use the Leaf name in the title if we bought some of these cards and decided to resell them. They say Leaf Trading Cards on the back. 99.9% of all people buying these are going to think they are a product put out by Leaf Trading Cards. If you don't want people to refer to them as "Leaf Trading Cards" then leave that line off the back, if that's not possible, then maybe you need to pass on the opportunity. It seems like you would have a team of people with even half a brain giving you guidance (although it seems like this should be something you could figure out for yourself). I've really, really tried to like your company. I met you at the National and thought you were a pretty good guy, but come on, show some common sense. This is YOUR company, why is it that it seems like you are totally unaware of damn near every controversial issue that pops up?

I am not denying any involvement, I am forcing the parties who acquired them to sell them under the terms of my contract which prohibit Rize from implying endorsement or implying ownership (heck even you guys were confused so you can see why we said such).. BG

So you disavow yourself from a product with your company's name on it. Got it. Will be nice to create unneeded headaches for other sellers when they try to sell these cards, with Leaf on the card, on the secondary market with Leaf in the title and get hosed by ebay due to your pushing of the issue.

You are the people involving me this discussion...is there any new ground to be covered?
There is no need to keep thread open to rehash questions that were asked and answered... BG

So what you're saying is:

Someone with a brand new company came to you wanting you to print and manufacture their cards. You struck up a deal with them, AND GOT PAID TO DO IT, but never wanted it to get out that you had anything to do with said cards that you manufactured?

I bet if the cards were well received, you'd have been the first to jump out and point out...Hey, we made those cards! See the little print on the back that says LEAF!!!

You really will take money for anything, won't you?

Am I the only person that finds it funny that the thread on page 1 regarding the non-serial numbered/backdoored superfractors from Topps is only 2 pages long yet there are 9 pages of Leaf bashing for a product that supposedly everybody hates and will never buy? The double standard from some on these boards is astounding. If it's Topps, ignore it. If it's Leaf, fire away. Luckily for BG the people that complain and hurl insults the most are often times the people that spend little to nothing on Leaf products.

If Topps had a rep on here that would answer even basic questions, that thread would be 20 pages long.

Do you think the issue with the superfractors is an issue where Topps is handing out cards or if its an issue with their printer?

This thread is asking what i think are valid questions...

Regardless of whether or not it is the printer you and I both know if those were Leaf cards that thread would be a dozen pages long.

BiggioBrooks: Seriously dude, your responses make it sound like you aren't even reading the thread. Let the adults talk.

Thanks for the personal good words..

On this issue, I can assure you the cards produced in future (not already printed) in conjunction with Leaf will have a far different card back.. BG

I agree, but Topps has proven time and time again that they're indifferent to the concerns of customers.

I'm pushing the issue now to avoid confusion... Sellers who are unaware will be notified by us personally not with an eBay threat,,, BG

I see BG, so it would be correct to call these "Rize by Leaf". Kind of like Lacoste by Izod?

I suppose my question is, since you don't own your own presses or factory, why wouldn't this company make their own contracts for image rights? Did you just charge them less? I know your business is none of my business, but I'm tryingtomfigure out their rationale for this, since it isn't a wieters exclusive situation.

I buy your products Brian. In fact, i'm in the process of sniping a half a dozen memories auto's. I'm in no way a hater since if I was, I'd probably stop bidding. Fact is, the part of this equation you should understand is that perception is truth. You've made some tremendous strides towards becoming a player in the collecting world but these side things you do really come off as money grabs and if you agreed to make a set which looks like this, you cant get angry when your name gets hurt with it. Leaf is a name alot of people would like to embrace since they collected it but you make it so darn hard sometimes...

No, does Kroger call store brand Ketchup , Kroger Ketchup by Del Monte?
No, they are creating their own brand identity (it's obvious I did not design the cards)..

Where we the complaints the last 2 years when we made these sets for him as Leaf branded?... BG
