Picked this up off eBay the other day (Class 2 Red Label #3/50) for what I thought was a good price - $40. Any thoughts on value? I saw a Griffey #/100 just went for $100 in auction. Thanks!

Listing coulda been better for that walker. I know he has player collectors but are they hardcore or is he minimally collected?

Cheap for any Red? Hell, I would have paid that much for the Green Walker Crusade!

Yeah but that was my question, who is collecting Walker? If this would have been a Bagwell I'd have seen it because I search nightly. But if you just typed in red crusade on ebay, I'm not sure it would have brought it up...

Larry Walker was an absolute monster in the 90's combining power, average and speed. I'm sure he has a decent sized following, even if those folks aren't on card forums.

Obviously they aren't using EBay, either...i mean what are the odds that the "large following" all somehow forgot to bid on a red Crusade that went less than $7? The only Walker collector I know (@jarcar) has kinda put it on hold.

Wasn't it a BIN listing?

Yeah, as big as Larry was in the 90's I don't think he has much of a following. It's kind of a shame that some great players get no love, but that makes it cheaper for us to pick up cool cards for very little.

Every once in awhile I'll bring up that monster season he had in 1997. It was one of the top 10 fantasy seasons ever. That year a guy in my 20-team keeper league went wire-to-wire on Larry's back. Only time anyone has ever come close to wire-to-wire in that league.

Oh yeah, Walker was hellified for sure. Problem I speak of is what the Gwynn collector brought up...I only have heard of Jacar collecting him. I didn't even know he had kinda stopped. He's certainly a collectible player. But some guys just don't get collected much. Andres Galaraga seems to be on par with that too. I collect them both. But I'm not actively watching them on ebay. Maybe I should start huh?

Problem with collecting players like those is that if they're not worth anything now they'll never be worth anything. So if you get in a financial jam you can't really get your money back.
