I still blame where we are today on the overreaction of a trade we made to get rid of Brad Lidge. It started all of this idiocy that has led to a $20mil roster.

The thing is, this isn't an AL/NL issue. They'd be terrible in a AAA division.

I was at the second game of the year and watched the almost perfect game by Yu Darvish. He made all the hitters look stupid and I was thinking Darvish was that great. Now, however, I know that the Astros hitters are just stupid.

Rick Ankiel has 9 strikeouts in 11 ABs with 0 BBs and 1 hit
Brett Wallace has 11 strikeouts in 14 ABs with 1 BB and 1 hit
Chris Carter has 8 strikeouts in 15 ABs with 0BBs and 1 hit
Carlos Pena has 7 strikeouts in 14 ABs with 0 BBs and 2 hits

Singleton and Springer and DeShields won't save this team, but they couldn't do any worse.

I can't see the Astros winning more than 60 games. However, they can definitely still play spoiler in September with all those division games against the Angels, Rangers, and A's.

Hey, the good news is that with Wallace and Ankiel out of the lineup, we only struck out 4 times tonight.

I still see glimmers of talent but it is a very slow moving train wreck.

I want Bo Porter to be less positive. Call these guys out. Expect miracles out of them. If he'd do this, we might see the Astros become a bad major league team instead of being a bad minor league team.
