sucks but I'd rather see him go to a team that will give him the shot he deserves, I don't know how he got himself so deep in the doghouse but he's not getting out. It's clear he's a better option than Sogard and Rosales but they just don't seem to care at this point, looks like Grant Green will be next in line.

I don't prospect much, but I was very impressed seeing Grant Green here in Midland. I bought a handful of Chrome autos so maybe he will work out.

Yeah he looks pretty good, just needs to keep improving defensively. Doesn't help they had him try out every position

Seriously, look at this clown.

I remember watching the Mariners telecast a while ago and our announcers referred to him as Harry Potter every time a ball was hit to him.

I've always been a fan of weeks, I for one would not be opposed to the Mariners trying to acquire him somehow, Ryan is not getting the job done and I don't see the need to rush Miller (although it's going to be hard keeping him down if he continues at this pace)

I would be more sympathetic to Weeks' cause if he were raking in the hitters paradise that is the PCL. However, he hasn't done enough to force his way onto the big league roster.

His OBP is about .400 leading the team in runs scored and 2nd in walks & 12 out of 13 in SB attempts. I think that's pretty damn good for what they want him to do which is get on base use his speed & score runs. Not to mention his defense has greatly improved as well as even playing SS. Bottom line is they hate on him & they know he's better than Sogard & Rosales but he's stuck in AAA with no shot at coming back up

I think you're underestimating Sogard a bit. He's above replacement level and has a history of high avg and high obp.

2008 (A) - 622 PA - .308/.394/.453
2009 (AA) - 530 PA - .293/.370/.400
2010 (AAA) - 597 PA - .300/.391/.407
2011 (AAA) - 366 PA - .298/.381/.410
2012 (AAA) - 180 PA - .331/.417/.484
2012 (MLB) - 108 PA - .167/.206/.265
2013 (MLB) - 187 PA - .272/.337/.343

Weeks has a -11.9 UZR defense rating in MLB. Sogard has a +4.8 UZR.

I do think Weeks has more upside than Sogard, but Weeks hasn't done anything this year to make anyone in baseball say, "Why the heck isn't he in Oakland?" The uptick in walk rate bodes well, though. Weeks might need a change of scenery to reach his potential. The A's are trying to repeat as AL West champs, so the real "bottom line" is that if Weeks was the best 2B and/or SS in the organization, he'd be in Oakland.

Lets face it, it isn't about the type of stats they put up, its about their value in the baseball card industry.
