Dick Porter, the focus of my collection. I had the contract first, then Google started scanning a bunch of old newspapers...viola...a photograph of the signing of this exact contract. How bizarre?!?

Heres another.

Several yrs ago, a company sent me info asking if I had interest in partnering with them.

They would blow up any topps card, front & back & put on cardboard stock. They said they had the rights from topps to do it.

I was offered a free sample of my choice so I sent in this reg sized jeter card.

Few wks later I got back both my card & a mammoth jumbo version.

Later on, I got a notice that topps decided to not go along & pulled back their rights.

The company never went public with this mammoth card idea.

Sean_C I apologize for my lack of political correctness, but that Bench makes me laugh. Even though he was well known with the ladies, there were rumors around Cincinnati for years that Johnny Bench liked "the meats". I have no idea how or why those rumors ever came up, but it makes that card funny to me.

I figure we're at an appropriate time for this...

Autoed 1986 Tony Gwynn All Star Game Passport...

I assume there were only one of these given to each player. Inside is info and where and when All-Star Game related events would occur and a spot to get stamped for each event. Looks like Tony only attented the Post Game Reception...

I wasn't aware of it, I just thought it was a pretty neat unexpected signed card from Bench's rookie year.

I agree. It's a great item. I was just being juvenile. I never understood why people in Cincinnati would care if he were straight or gay, but it was a rumor for a lot of years.

Some more Upper Deck original art. These were used to make the checklists, wrappers and boxes for 1994 Collectors' Choice. They look awesome in person:

I got Simmons' sig while walking around the National three years ago. Please explain the inscription! It got a good laugh out of me.

LOL, my buddy got it for me at a book signing. I think he just said write something funny and Bill was being Bill. I love it.

I love some of the items being posted. I really like some of the Original Artwork stuff...

Here are a few of mine:

Will Clark Original 1st MLB Contract, its a few pages, but here is a peek

Will Clark Only Home World Series Game Worn Jersey from 1989, also auto'd n inscribed as the gamer by Will

And this for some reason I have always been a fan of, I have owned it for quite a while, but its a Topps/RN China Proof, Has real gold as the sig, its got a Notarized Certificate w/ it that is signed by RN and Topps guys. Don't think it has a ton of value, but always thought it was a cool piece

My dad gave me this from his collection yesterday. It's a signed Rick Wise photo detailing his no hitter AND 2 home run game.
