Good morning everyone!

Back among the living after a horrible day trying to recover from food poisoning; by the morning I was so dried up I felt like a craisin

Oh by the way..... Dodgers are in 1st place. From where they were to where they are today, I will take it. I am hoping they can just keep it going.

Another brick in the wall that I like to call " Becoming That Guy In The Neighborhood Who Singlehandedly Will Lower Everyone's Property Values."

I was taking out the trash cans to the curb when this annoying guy who walks these dinky little dogs (that, by the way, $hit all over the place and whom the annoying guy refuses to clean up after) and he stops, looks at our grass and tells me "You need to get those weeds taken care of. The wind will disperse the seeds throughout the neighborhood."

I responded that he needed to pick up his dog's $hit because the wind disperses its stink all over the neighborhood.

He goggled at me awhile and then said that I had a bad attitude. (Imagine!)

I told him that I had a doctor's note about my attitude and that it is contagious, so maybe he should move along.

I like messing with yuppies.

Where I live, Urbana, people shoot dirty looks at those who mow their yard

It's crazy the attitude some neighbors can have: this past winter, the woman next door was hosting a couple that owned 2 big black Labradors, who would NEVER be on a leash. And every time I would walk our dog out, or even my (then) pregnant wife would just walk out, these dogs would charge at us. Heck, one of them even repeatedly took craps on our lawn!! When we had the -gasp- audacity to tell that neighbor that maybe, maybe she should do something about it all, she shrugged and walked away. Minutes later, I catapulted the latest dog deposit of the day back onto her property with a shovel. The cherry on the cake was when we had our new couch delivered: the dogs charged at the delivery men, who had to run and hide in their truck; we called the police and animal control on the spot. Authorities came by in the afternoon, and the couple and their dogs moved out the next day.

My wife and I always try to do things the nice way, but it comes a point when enough is enough; even the police officer we spoke to told us that he was amazed we even waited that long before complaining...

Not to worry. Two more games in Toronto mean the Dodgers will probably leave town still in first.

Sounds exactly like our neighbors next door!

I, too, have launched $hit salvos from their dogs back onto their lawn (or roof, once). Funny thing is, they were the neighborhood "President and Vice President" (whatever that means) for awhile. Rules of common responsibility mean nothing to them, but they will blat on about how much they LOVE the neighborhood. :???:

Morning Kiddies 1 more day and I'm off to Texas with the wifey in tow. Actually we are going there to see a friend of her's. It's their 25th wedding anniversary and they are throwing a party. Plus it gives us an excuse to go on a mini vacation ;)

Hitting the game on Wednesday night, I think the new ranger Garza my be pitching too. :p it will be the Yankees. Funny thing is when we took a Vacation to California, we went to the Oakland A's game the Rangers were in town. It would have been great if it was the A's in town when we make the trip to Texas

Pine Tar - Here they are from yesterday's MT

Pecan Lodge is THE SPOT - Open weird hours and only until they run out. If you can make it, it's the place!

Lockhart Smoke House of Dallas - Amazing, well known, can't go wrong. Location is great too, in the Bishops Arts District. So after (or before) can walk around, shop, etc.

Cousins Bar-B-Q - Out in Fort Worth but worth it if you're out that way. Good beers too!

Meshack Bar-B-Q Shack - Never been but heard amazing things. Near where you'll be. It'll probably do the trick.

Bartley Bar-B-Q - Another spot near here you'll be. Open like 75 years or something. Great BBQ home style for Texas. Can't go wrong here.
