Was wondering why Almora left early last night, not in the lineup tonight... then I saw this today from Scout.com

The Kane County game gets top billing because I spent Sunday afternoon at Ashford Field in the “front row” enjoying Class A baseball. The big story of the 11-1 drubbing was the injury suffered by Albert Almora in the top of the fourth. The Cubs 2012 # 1 pick was the leadoff hitter and came out of the dugout to warm up for his at-bat . During one of his warm-up swings, which were taken right in front of me, Almora grimaced in pain as he swung and grab his lower back. He took a few seconds to gather himself and tried to swing again but you could see he was in pain. He went up to bat and took a weak cut at a pitch, fouling it off, and then flew out to center. He tried to run down the first base line but started limping and pulled up after he crossed first base. The trainer came out and he left the game. Almora is hitting .329/.376/.466 in 61 games.

It's being reported that Wilmer Flores will soon be getting his first call to the Mets.

And speaking of which, Brandon Nimmo was a triple from the cycle tonight. :)

I know this may not matter to anyone else but Pat Dean made his AAA debut tonight for Rochester and had a line of:
7 IP 2 H 0 R 4 K

Not a bad start to AAA if I do say so myself!

Anybody know why Tyler Pike didn't end up pitching tonight?
