Sta Ooooooooooo pid!

Only Topps can possibly do something like this and piss off hundreds of collectors.

This takes "dumb ass move" to a new level.

No I found Scutaro. I tweeted it out then got a hold of Chris, who did a write up, then he found one (Castro) in his box. I opened up all 384 of mine and found 2 more...Rivera & Shields.

That kind of settles the debate as to whether or not Topps sends Beckett loaded boxes then, huh? Funny thing is, if there was ONE TIME in the history of their box reviews to do it, this would have been that time and Topps would have (should have) informed Beckett what was inside the box.

Dumb.

Congrats to you Brent for finding the ones you did. I would wager Rivera might be THE card like this to pull this year.

I think it's really cool and very "ginter" of them. As Gilmo said, these are going to be truly rare.

And rippers will be opening their lids for years to come now ha

I think that was actually pretty clever to hide cards in the packing material that most people throw out.

I'm just waiting for Topps to announce a wrapper redemption program about 5 weeks after a product release as a little bonus reward those who save wrappers or open product a few weeks after release and punish those who monster rip boxes/cases and choke up the landfills right around the release date. ;)

I love the creativity in the distribution. How interesting would it have been of these weren't stumbled upon until six months from the release?

I'm hofmichael and I approve this message.

That's pretty slick. There has to be a ton already thrown out - so you know there's going to be pissed off people.

Player collectors like myself are praying their guy wasn't trashed. Here's to hoping the Rendon isn't laying mangled in a landfill somewhere

I wonder if they only did this with hobby boxes. Maybe they snuck some into retail blaster boxes too? I don't think many people rip open those either.

If Topps HAD to do something like this, the way to go would be as an unannounced rip box topper.

Once word gets out, how many collectors will be livid that Topps didn't announce this BEFORE everyone threw out their boxes?

Sure, the odds are totally against anyone having it in their box. But, there was a CHANCE it could have been and everyone who trashed the boxes will never know.

And that is just how not to win over customers.

Won me over, I just ordered more boxes.

Ginter is off the wall and mysterious. This is a great idea. Right up their alley

This is awesome. Fits in perfect with Ginter. Makes it even better with all it's quirks. Great job by Topps doing something new. No surprise we get a few people XXXXXing about it. They give more value to the product and will help even sell more boxes and we still get a few ******** XXXXXing about it.

Biggest change in print run ever?

Glossy Ginter, from #/999 to 1/1 in one year.

I'd think the blaster boxes are way too thin.
