If the Dodgers can have a thread, we can have one.

It's a tough time to be a Giants fan, but hang in there, better times are on the horizon!

So nice of them to throw a banana at Adam Jones.......guess that's less dangerous as throwing D-Cell batteries at the Dodger outfielders.

Think of it this way: we're going to be getting a great draft position in next year's draft.

Giants have done a great job picking winners with a top 10 pick in recent years...

2009 = Zack Wheeler #6 :(
2008 = Buster Posey #5
2007 = Madison Bumgarner #10
2006 = Tim Lincecum #10

Speaking of top draft picks.... here's a fun fact:

With the 4th overall pick in the 1997 draft, the Giants picked (current Pirates closer) Jason Grilli!

He was dealt to Florida (with another prospect) for Livan Hernandez.

Haha I had no clue! imagine it taking that long to get a solid spot in the majors, wow, 36 years old and he finally got a closer spot

Here's a question for Giants fans in the SF area: does anyone know where I can find some of those black & white photo cards they hand out at the yearly Giants Fan Fest for autographs? I'm trying to track down the cards of Hensley Meulens and Roberto Kelly. I'll be in SF next week on vacation (going to the game on Thursday), and was hoping to track those down while I'm there.

I don't live in the Bay Area (yet) but I know the cards you speak of. I would try browsing the SF Craigslist occasionally.

Also, I don't know the "best shops" in the bay area, but there are 3 that I like when I'm up there.

Lefty's in Burlingame (just 20-25 mins south of SF)
Cards and Comics Central (its in Little Russia, just north of GG Park in Richmond District)
Japantown Collectibles. (In the heart of SF, by The Japan Center thing)

They may have copies of the card you're seeking, I'd definitely go to Lefty's first.

they sometimes give away those black and white cards in the mystery bags. I have a couple at home I remember.

It's been reported that Zito has cleared wavers and can now be traded to any team. LOL

Belt's got a lot of talent, and needs only to find a way to tap into it consistantly. So far it seems that his batting grip change is paying off. Think it lasts?

Will Clark 2.0 would be nice, but that would be pushing it.

I think belt either needs to figure out his consistency soon or we need to trade him. Its too important of a power hitting position to have a streaky hitter at
