Miguel Cabrera running away with his 2nd triple crown in a row. The guys numbers are just awesome.
With out Davis in the AL, Cabrera would have a 13 HR lead over Edwin Encarnacion and a 33 RBI lead over Edwin Encarnacion, Instead of just a 10 over Davis. He has a 30 point lead over Mike Trout in AVG. He is only 4 HR behind Davis. I think he could catch him. Would love to see it. What great back to back years he is having.

Yes he is a beast! It seems every time I check out a Detroit Tiger's box score he is 2 of 4 with a HR and a couple of RBI's.

He is ridiculous good, crazy to think he was having personal troubles with Alcohol a couple years back, maybe all these PED users should be eating like crap and boozing it up.
Cabrera does it Ruth and Mantle style!

As an A's fan, I found it ridiculous that USAToday listed Josh Donaldson #1 in their weekly MVP ranking last week...

Mitch Williams thinks that Miggy can catch Davis 'cuz the ALEast pitching is better than what Miggy will face in September but I think teams will walk him much more and if the Tigers big lead holds up he'll get more time off in the last coupla weeks...

There was a day a week or so ago where Cabrera led all of baseball in every batting stat but HR.

As of today he's:

1st in AVG
2nd in HR
1st in RBI
1st in OPS
1st in OBP
1st in SLG

If Davis played in the NL he'd not only be leading the triple crown categories, but basically all the hitting categories including runs.

I'll admit, it's incredible Miggy is still putting up these numbers all year.
Talk about consistent.

But he won't catch Davis in the HR's.
Also, Davis has been gaining in the RBI's....

As great as the numbers are, are they better than bonds last 36,37,38,39, year old seasons??

bonds
36 328 73 137 13sb 177bb in 470 abs
37 370 46 110 9sb 198bb in 403 abs
38 341 45 90 7sb 148bb in 390 abs
39 362 45 101 6sb 232bb in 370 abs

in the amount of abs bonds was seing and chances with men on, where he wasnt giving a chance to hit, These seasons blow away anything we are seing now.
Miggy is great, but he had 622 abs in 2012. Pitchers don't want to face miggy, but they still pitch to him. Bonds had pitchers and mgrs so scared, they wouldn't pitch to him
1/3 of the time.

I don't think anyone can argue that Miggy is close to Bonds, what Barry did was incredible. He would get one or two good pitches to hit an entire game and that was all it took.

yeah.... "Gaining".
Not gonna lie, July was a big disappointing month for Davis and the O's in general. With his lackluster month, it showed the BEASTLY numbers he put up the first half of the season.

Miggy is keeping his BA up for sure! Crazy consistent. But hasn't hit an xtra base hit or RBI in 3 games now.
Davis has added a Homer, couple doubles and a few RBi's
Davis is up 4 HR now, and only back 9 RBI.
Wish Davis' K's weren't so high, but he's no Mark Reynolds!

Gonna be a fun race to the end of the season, but I don't see Miggy going back-back. Just don't.

Also, to note...

Davis has played 5 more games. (D131/C126)
8 Less at bats (D474/C482)
4 More HR (D47/C43)
13 More Doubles (D38/C25)
9 Less RBI (D121/C130)
19 Less Walks. :| (D58/C77)
