Did anyone like this or not. Me? I LOVED it. Back in the bay i could not afford the box set so I recorded them all onto VHS tapes. Now he did the 10th inning. I just got the entire dvd collection (11 dvd's) for 23 bucks (shipped). I am stoked! Cant wait to watch it all over again. I love when he is talking and they play the sounds of baseball in the back round (bats hitting balls and so forth)

Watching it on Netflix right now for the 7th or 8th time. It's worth the money either way.

Where did you get it for that much? I wouldn't mind picking it up. Thanks

e-bay. he claims it is bran new but the case has a ding but i dont care about that.

uh-oh, it's going to be copies that some guy ripped from the boxed set in the basement of his mom's house and burned to DVD+R consumer-grade disks.

got mine from amazon awhile back on what was then a great sale - ~$50'ish delivered.

If this ebay purchase turns out to be pirate DVD's, put a price watch on the Ken Burns BASEBALL Box set from amazon and buy when there is a good price. Looking at the amazon price history for the box set including 10th inning, $50 is typical but it's been as low as $38 and change during a flash sale.

I found one after reading this thread last night that says its sealed for under $28 shipped. I am excited to have it on the way. The seller had 100% feedback so we will see how it goes.

I think he did a great job. $23 is a great price for the set. I love watching the 9/10th innings because he heavily covers Bonds' career. :)

There was only a couple of bad feedback claiming they were copies. But he has 99.9% positive feedback with the number 19,894. he claims it is bran new and never opened. but if they are bootleg I don't care as long as it works and I can watch it.For that price it will get me by until I find a original copy..
"Brand New: An item that has never been opened or removed from the manufacturer’s sealing (if applicable). Item is in original shrink wrap (if applicable). See the seller's listing for full details"
Item is Brand New & Factory Sealed. DVD Set Comes in a Outer Box w/ Six Slim Style DVD Cases & Covers Inside.

I was very surprised when I found out how many detractors this series has. Even thought it can be nitpicked to death, it made me far more educated in pre-70's baseball than I had ever been before.

Seeing this series made me a bigger fan of the history of baseball, but less a fan of baseball itself. It was after seeing this series that I severely discounted any records, feats, accomplishments from pre-integration since they purposely disallowed some of the best players in the nation from playing. Pair with that my discounting records from the steroid area, and there's not much left. I came away liking the "feeling" of being a baseball fan in my younger days, the nostalgia, and the history, but pretty much disgusted with all other aspects. Now I just play fantasy baseball and rarely do I watch an entire game on tv.

You are right in that there are many who felt this series was very New York and East Coast-centric but regardless, I enjoyed the heck out of it and still watch it frequently on Netflix. While not high on my list to purchase I can say if I saw this set with the 10th inning at under 50 bucks I would probably buy it for myself.

I also encourage anyone who likes this type of baseball history to also get ahold of the the HBO series, When It Was a Game. This three episode series was made of entirely of full color home movies made by players and fans and it is a great way to spend a few hours watching some baseball history.
