[MENTION=10405]Hawk8[/MENTION] - your Dawson all-star card has the same Big Star back as one of my 1989 Broder Grace cards, but the fronts don't look anything alike, so maybe not same year. The Heroes Deck is fun, I have a full Cubs deck. Grace only rated a 3

Brian Kong emailed me this morning and said my commissioned National sketch card is done. Can't wait to see it.

So here's my 1/1 sketch card from the National. Brian Kong rocks! Very happy with how it turned out. Brian did 100 custom sketches for this year's national. 75 he did in advance of the show, and 25 he took as commissions at the show. @alexs64 got one too, looking forward to seeing his Ethier!

Alex, your sketch looks equally awesome! I think Brian Kong, Jay Pangan, and Ken Branch are the three best baseball sketch card artists. Might try for a Grace from each.

I gave Brian complete freedom, besides saying Grace had to be pictured as a Cub. He asked if I had any source material, so I told him to check my website and use anything he liked. Looks like he used this autographed photo I had. Now I'm thinking the card and photo would look very good framed together.

If they read the note the Dr gave me I'll be home before I know it since he says I can't lift anything over 5 pounds until Friday. But really I don't see why, but with milk it if I can. I lost a good high school friend on Sunday Sept 1st and suspect it was his heart, but don't know for sure right now. He was only 50 years young too.

Me too! We have some in our kitchen over the last month. Been putting apple cider vinegar into a up topped with saran wrap with tiny holes in it. So far half has been eliminated and we are hoping the rest go away with the same process.

Here are the two new editions to the dorm room. First up is Denard Spans locker nameplate from when the Nationals playes a three game series in Denver. I've never heard of a team selling visitor tags at the stadium before so this was a must for a player collector like me. Next is this all star game poster that I got at Coors Field for $1. They were clearing out the all star game stock so I grabbed a few things, including a mini bat for $1 and 3 shirts at $10 apiece

Got three Andre Dawson slides in the mail today including one of a May 1994 home run which I believe was against the Twins. Do not know if you will be able to see the slide in the pic I am going to post.

There's Gold, and then there's Black Gold!

Here is what I have: Base, Oversized, Pre-production, Marlins, Rookies, Blank Back, Mini, Gold, Black Gold, A Winner, A Redeemed, AB Winner, C Winner Error, CD Winner Error. I need to work on getting the rest of those Black Gold Winners and Redeemed. (forgot to picture the traded)

Is the grey/silver 1990 Leaf variations a true variation or just a color variation from printing ink levels?

I am of the opinion it is the latter, a printing ink level difference only, and not a separate checklisted item.

Thanks for your opinion, I dont want to count printing ink level difference cards as different cards and I am about to start counting my 90 Leaf cards and wanted to get a second opinion before I started separating them into grey and silver.
