Fister outdueled Lackey. Lester outdueled Scherzer. Sox bats thrashed Tigers pitching for 20 runs in game 3, hitting 8 home runs, leading Boston to a 2-1 series victory over Detroit.

Does Boston's series victory reveal what will happen in the playoffs in these two teams face each other?

It seems like Boston has the more well-rounded, complete team (with big-time potential to thrash a team, like last night)!

What do you think?

The one key missing factor is that Justin Verlander will be pitching as many games as possible for Detroit in the playoffs.

And the fact that the whole hypothetical is pointless because you cant base a hypothetical playoff series off of a regular season series.

If they do meet up, it could be 1-0 wins all throughout or it could be 15-12 wins all throughout. That's baseball.
