Ken Griffey Jr 2013 Topps Tier One Triple Patch Auto 1/1 Reds or Mariners Patches?

I am awaiting on a Ken Griffey Jr 2013 Topps Tier One Triple Patch Auto 1/1 card and was wondering on everyone's thoughts if the patches will be Reds or Mariners? I'm kind of leaning towards Reds for some reason which is fine by me and it should be a beautiful looking card regardless! Thanks!

Nah - I'd guess mariners for a newer product since his retirement. It is the team I think most associate him with during his best years.

Right! That's what I'm hoping! I just know that Topps has put in different team patches for other players that don't match the uniforms that the player is featured on the card. But, like you said it's a newer product so you would think Topps will have Mariners jerseys to use for Griffey!

I would hope Mariners. Personally, no interest in cards of him in a Reds uniform. Worst case scenario, picture does not match patch :-(. Upper Deck was famous for that

Worst case... White sox pic, Mariners photo, Reds white jersey with red pinstripe and sliver of patch, mostly covered by the card itself!

I'm pretty confident that it will not be white sox patches. I'm actually kind of leaning towards Mariners patches after thinking about it some more. In this set there are 99 Griffey serial numbered single patch autos, 25 Griffey serial numbered dual patch autos and 1 Griffey serial numbered triple patch auto all featuring Griffey in a Mariners uniform. I see it pretty unlikely that every one of those cards will have reds patches instead of mariners patches which would make none of the cards matching the uniform that Griffey is wearing. Now, I know hearing from other collectors that Topps doesn't always follow convention with matching the patches with the players' uniform on the card but in this case it would seem pretty strange and unlikely to me that every card in the whole set won't be matched up. Just some of my thoughts on this after thinking about it.

Hey, you're not the only one! I actually grew up watching him with the Reds so I can relate to him more as a Red. I was really too young during his Mariners days but I like any Griffey card being Reds or Mariners. I will definitely post pics as soon as I get this card which I called Topps earlier this week and they seemed pretty confident that it should be shipping out by the end of this month! It seems that I have been waiting for this card forever which it really has only been a little more than a month since I bought the redemption on eBay! Just so excited to be getting a Griffey 1/1 as it should be a beautiful looking card whatever patches Topps uses!

LOL! I'm sure that won't happen! Yeah, Mariners patches may look better but there are some nice Reds ones out there as well, some being in my PC. Thanks!

Since in the set there are 99 Griffey single patch autos, 25 dual patch autos and 1 Triple patch auto then they would make all of them White Sox? Highly unlikely as I'm leaning towards Mariners but I guess you never know just seems unlikely. Thanks!

True! I'm sure I won't be disappointed in this card no matter the patches as it is a Griffey 1/1! Hopefully it will be either Reds or Mariners patches as I don't think it will be White Sox even though it's possible. Thanks!

So it makes no difference the team, Topps is rolling the presses.

White Sox gamers are cheaper and less desirable in the full Game Used world so this "could" be a cheap way out.
