The way you are doing it would create 1 winner prior to the opening of the product...nobody else in the break would even watch. Why would someone choose a 1/1 base over a /5? No sense.

By having 17 slots it is not a raffle, it is a true "team break". There are 16 subsets of autos and 1 set of base cards. Each person would be randomed into one of those subset slots. So prior to the break EVERYONE will have a shot at an auto. If you held the "booklet" subset I could see someone ponying up some money to buy it before the break. It just build the excitement better than a random and 5 out of 20 think they even need to watch.

Every slot has value in my break...in yours 5 slots have value.
Completely agree. This break is better value than any of the other ideas presented.

Do people actually believe that if this was a draft the number one slot would draft a base card over the auto? Come on.

Obviously no one would draft a base over the auto but what about spots 2, 3, 4 and 5? Those guys will want to pick which they'll want.

Who cares. I participated in the Presidential Cuts "break" and only one person got something.

If you want a system where you bid on spots, do it. I was trying to simplify things but obviously I'm getting a reaction of WTF for the idea.

Carry on.

I know that I am always "that guy"...

...but for a $700-800 product, the airbrushing kills it for me and SCREAMS cheap knock-off product.

The use of the same pics over and over again hurts the product as well in my not-so-humble opinion.

There are some really good looking cards on those sell sheets that could have been great.

I read over what I said earlier and I sounded extremely dick-like and that wasn't my intention. Apologies for that.

Really I have no say in this and Andrew will do what he sees is best for his breakers. Hopefully it will be a monster pull for someone on this board.

Just like the 1 auto per box Ali release I will be waiting a week or so when the market is flooded and buy an Ichiro for several hundred less than the price of a box this way I choose the best looking card and save several hundred.

lol damn you are right, maybe next time ;) I just looked back and I actually bought 2 Alis for the price of a Box at release and then waited a bit when they dried up and made something like just under $90 after fees. I picked the better of the 2 and whamo

What would a person have to pull to recoup a $700 investment from this? I don't see it.

Your dealing with a break with almost everyone nets a 50% return or more and a few hit the jackpot. Throw on the fact the cards look amazing and that's a lot better than most rips.
