Pretty interesting. Thanks for posting.

My question is, where did he get the details on the game used item in each card? For one of them, he links the bat to a certain game and even says it was signed by the entire team? He links jersey swatches to particular years? I am sure he is guessing and why not, it's not like anyone can prove him wrong.

Well.... that is F'ing cool. Good for Panini. I love this release and think it was just awesome. I don't buy wax really and I was involved in probably 6 or more case breaks of this stuff. I wish Belle was in it because he probably would of had some really nice prime items like a button or something.

I'm confused why Panini did not feel I worthwhile to share that info on their own (I see they had to do research but why not keep track and post the info from the beginning?) There's a ton of cards in that set I would have gone after knowing that info but I felt like there was no way to know what was a jacket why was old timers etc.

It simply doesn't matter to the masses.

Amazing and beautiful set! Have about 10 of these to round out some of my hof collection. Some HOF's I didn't know had g/u cards were included..
This set even without logos was pulled off incredibly well and people will continue to catch on to it over time.

I can't agree with this. The prices on more recent game-used items are far cheaper than GU from older sets and I believe a major reason is the concern about whether the provenance of the items along with questions about whether an item was from a player's playing days vs. from an Old Timer's game or coaching days. Whether the item is a cap, glove or some undershirt or sleeve or the like etc. etc.

I couldn't agree more that provenance is crucial here.

Adding a photo of the full item and a description of its origin would be HUGE for the collectibility of this and similar sets.

It's mind-boggling that Panini wouldn't see this.

ive brought it to their attention multiple times. For some reason they are not interested and all my questions have fallen on deaf ears. Panini is by far my favorite card company right now and I have got some answers on some things. By adding Ken Tylers info as well as my own research and also thousands of past auctions that I have saved I have pretty much figured out most of paninis relics. Some are very nice pieces that are cut up, but most are actually underwhelming unless you collect old timers and coaches jerseys.

The info that he has with that set mostly looks pretty impressive. Is there some I do that sounds better than it appears or did they use their best items for this set?

they pretty much used their best stuff on this set. National Treasures I think is the best GU set ever even without logos. I was really referring to stuff like prime cuts and limited. They did leave off some info that I think they would like everyone to believe that the Satchel Paige and Rogers Hornsby is from their playing days. I figure this is why they just told him they were "game used jerseys", but the Hornsby is a 1950-52 Reds coaches/manager jersey and the Paige is a 1968 braves coaches jersey. Still vintage stuff but not as good as playing days. Also the Frisch jacket is known to be from 55ish which was well after his playing career. There are others that have discrepancies in the info but I havent done all the research yet.
