This might be a dumb question and I think I might know the answer anyways. But is it safe to assume that all the prime pieces, buttons, booklets, etc are from the same jerseys as this guys sets that Panini told which years stuff came from? Or is it just for the base set and nicknames set.

I guess you can put me in the minority on this product. Granted there are some great players and some stuff you don't see everyday, but this set doesn't really appeal to me at all. I guess I've been looking through Chrome colored glasses for too long now!

I think part of it for me is that I don't know anything about some of the guys who played ball back in the 30's/40's and it's hard to get excited about a guy I never heard of (even if he's in the hall of fame!). Don't take that the wrong way. I'm hardly an uneducated baseball fan... I just haven't done due dilligence to learn all about the game and the big names pre-1950ish. Of course I know guys like Walter Johnson, Ty Cobb, etc., but some of those names were pretty much my first time hearing them as I read through the set description.

Regardless, it's an amazing accomplishment for the set builder. Great job tracking all those down. That is no small set! I was surprised how many cards are in there!

Not necessarily, I have patches from players they say are pants. Also the prime nickname cards were also different. Kind of a home/away setup. For example Hoyt Wilhelm. His common button is a 1971 cubs jersey, but his nickname button is a 1968 white sox jersey. There are numerous examples of this like the Gehrig in my sig. They say it's off white pants but the material under the patch is grey.
