A very eventful 18 hours.

The most lopsided trade of the offseason, by far, is Doug Fister has been traded to the Nats for Steve Lombardozzi, Ian Krol and Robbie Ray.

Jemile Weeks traded to the O's for Jim Johnson.

Joe Nathan has signed with the Tigers.

A.J. Pierzynski has signed with the Red Sox.

and just now, Ryan Hanigan has been traded to the Rays. No other details known, other than it may be a three-team deal.

I'm still trying to figure out why Detroit was so willing to let Fister go. Seems like they got very little value in return.

Frees up some $$ to make other moves, but you'd think they could get more than what they got for a guy like Fister, who would be a #2 or #3 on most other pitching staffs in baseball.

sad to see Jemile Weeks leave the A's but maybe he'll get a new life in Baltimore. still a huge fan and hope he makes the best of the move.

Fister made $4mil last year. How much more would he get in arbitration? Hard to imagine being able to find a pitcher of that quality for under $8mil a year.

This sounds interesting.

#Athletics and #rangers are in the middle of discussions on a significant trade, said a source.

I think he was looking at $7MM this year. I am with you on this one, I don't like the move much at all for the Tigers; but I also have found that it's never wise to sleep on Dombrowski...he seems to always make other moves that make these types of trades make sense before all is said and done.

Rays catching production will rival that of the 2013 Yankees.

Who would be involved. I don't think the A's have what it takes for Profar. Do you think Cespedes is involved?

Could Cano maybe begin to be in play for the Tigers? Maybe thats what they are freeing money for. Don't know where they'd play him though.

#DBacks get RHP Justin Choate, player to be named, per source. Heath Bell, Hanigan, $$$ to #Rays , Holmberg to #Reds, Choate and PTBN to #DBacks .

Holmberg was the top lefty in AZ's system, but will be more valuable in the pitching depleted Reds' system, especially at the upper levels.
