I admit i overreacted, but it was a gut reaction. Ive never gotten above 5 bucks, and it sounds like lots of us never have. It was a small perk that came with shopping on ebay, and now its gone. Im disappointed, certainly. With the money they are saving now, will our final value fees go down? Probably not...

It will not affect me since I've always earned over $5 every time but I can see where it would suck for folks who don't buy a lot of stuff. But hey, at least it lasted for as long as it did.

If you are not earning the minimum, then you probably don't need ebay, so it should not be an issue. I have been trying to curb my spending for a long time and i admit it, I am weak. i have some disposable income and nothing much else i want to spend it on, but damn i am sometimes embarrassed by the bucks redemptions i get each quarter. i don't even want to figure out what I actually spent, because that would be worse!

Yeah I about crapped my pants when I looked how many ebay bucks I have and read you had to spend $250 for $5 in ebay bucks, the math wasn't pretty, hopefully the wife doesn't ever make that calculation lol.

As much as it annoys me it was bound to happen. They need to fill the gap they have created by not charging listing fees somehow. I save more in a week not paying listing fees than I ever made with eBay bucks.

Im on daily. Been trying to earn. My threads fall flat. Lots of views, no convo from the lurkers. ;)

I don't forsee earning much either.I rarely start new threads, so that probably eliminates me right there.I don't have the time to constantly post new threads here every day.

I thought that's why the FVF was higher with free listings than they were if you paid to list your item.

Something that also occurred to me today about this ebay bucks under $5 being forfeited, I wonder if we'll be seeing more "double ebay bucks for purchases over $xx" promotions. Most of the ones I get are for $75 or $100 and I rarely if ever spend that much in a transaction on ebay so the promotions would be worthless to me unless it's double ebay bucks for purchases over $20 or $25 (where most of my hand-collated set purchases roughly fall price-wise).

I could see that happening. My hope is they pump that savings into additional promos.

I would be happy if this did not effect me. That would mean I'm not spending as much. I have to say I am surprised that there is as many FCB members that say they don't spend that much on EBay. With some of the cards you guys show off I figured you were big spenders!

Target does kinda give you money back, you get 5% off all purchases made with the Target REDCard.

All for the low low price of identity theft

Earn

Its pretty simple

I think he is asking more like what it actually takes to get fcb bucks, because just starting threads doesnt do it. Is it start a thread and if it gets more than ten replies you get a buck? Or a thread with more than 50 views earns a buck (since a ton of people lurk and dont talk)?

Can you give specifics guidelines?

It's a judgement call I'm sure. No black and white guidelines. Whatever he deems to be value add gets you bucks.

Now if you could start threads via mobile, then maybe I could start ;)

You have to go to forums, then gen chat or baseball, then you can start a new thread. Just opening app its not a choice.
