I nabbed some pacific prism purples /320 that aren't rare at all, but I really like them and for a few bucks each they're a nice find.

What are some of your fave cheap buys on COMC that you always go back for???

Best steal for me on comc was finding this Richter Scale version listed with the regulars.

1995 Emotion error card of Greg Maddux for $1. Foil overprint should have been "Dominating", but was stamped "Warrior" - so it reads "Dominating Warrior" - which is pretty cool.

Over the last 3 years or so I have been picking up Ryan exhibit cards for between $2 and $5 per card. I always list them for $13-$15 just because I figured no body would touch them. sold 23 of them (which makes me a bit upset since I have been working on the set) for $14 a piece to one guy. Big win, but will take me a long time to replace.

Bought two Jean Segura 2011 chrome autos for $8 each April of last year. One graded out a BGS 9.5 and went in the PC. The other sold last year at the height of the hype and covered both cards, grading fees, and put some money back into my Paypal.

On a side note, I just noticed how far those autos have fallen. Last one sold around $13, which seems very low to me.

I haven't gotten too many "steals" but this was the most memorable COMC purchase - the infamous 1998 donruss crusade proofs sale from a few years back (was it spring 2011?)

i picked up the purple directly, and then acquired the red and green from another boardmember who got them on COMC right before I did...

Bought for $2 sold for $70+. Used the funds to pick up some nice Bradys and 1967 Topps for my set.

Bought the card minus the auto and creases on COMC for $5. The auto was free courtesy of Mr. Doerr TTM and the creases, well, those were free too, courtesy of the USPS.

I have an equally sad Campy story. I was trying to get the seller of a 1953 H-O Oatmeal Campy record/card down under $30 because it had some paper loss. Someone else nabbed it at the asking price, presumably, which was $35 i think.

Sometimes it doesn't pay to be cheap!

Almost bought a PSA 1 '53 Campanella for $15 about a year ago, and waited a moment too long. Have regretted that since.

My fav was picking up mostly AAAA'ers for $1.50-$2 each when COMC had some shipping special.

Some of the names in that purchase included Tyson Ross, Brad Hand, Johnny Giavotella, Kirk Nieuwenhuis for the AAAA'ers and among the more established MLBers I got in the same mailing was Ricky Nolasco, Drew Storen, Drew Stubbs, Trevor Cahill, and Joe Nathan.

I liked getting a Topps Chrome Season's Best Refractor Mark McGwire for 60 cents because it was mislabeled as the regular Topps Season's Best card.
