Just wanted to share: I am 37 and when I was young in the early to mid 80s my brother and I used to frequent every card show we could go to in Sacramento and the Nationals in San Francisco Every year. Well I stopped collecting for years and had packed all of our worthless junk in boxes at my parents house. I put them in my house I bought 10 years ago and let them sit. I was bored this weekend and thought I would look at what we had. I remember the old shows where old school stars would show up occasionally and sign and I knew we had Hank Aaron sign some cards. Finally found them. (Wish I cared about condition of cards back then but still glad I found them. I swear my brother had Mickey Mantle sign something but I can't find anything. I just called him and hope he remembers. Anyway wanted to share just a few of the fun cards I found. It sure brought back some fond memories of my bro and I hitting these shows together. Nothing big but cool IMO

Very cool. I can recall desperately trying to find card shows when I was younger as well. Oh the good times! Thanks for sharing. What's up with that Jim Rice and it's bottom border?

Lol, poorly cut card apparently. It is weird. It actually looks like the scissor lines that assists you when cutting paper. I have a few of the 75 mini cards that have that on them. Totally odd

Great cards!
Almost all of my older cards (70’s) that I pulled from packs are in similar condition because I carried them with me. In the late 90’s when grading was becoming popular, I sent a bunch of my favorite RCs in to BGS. Many of them got grades of 6 through 8. I’ve never considered trying to “upgrade” those cards to a nicer copy because every defect on them was caused by me. They are and always have been MY cards! LOL

Haha. Totally agree, nobody can take that away from us. These are MY cards and there is no mistaking that. i had someone try to steal one of my cards when i was younger, i told him i knew it was mine because of the huge crease that went through Nolan's face. lol. Back in the day for me it was all about having the card, not the condition, then we get older and realize maybe we should have then better care of them. :-). Here a picture of the back of the Rice BTW, no lines on the back,

If you cards are in a barn I imagine they will have a similar condition as mine, haha
