^ Randy Johnson 1997 Notable Nicknames Auto PSA 9[10auto] went for $730 today. Crazy. Makes me want to get mine graded asap.

I sold a raw copy last week for $500+ and now I think I may have taken a lower offer than I could have gotten. Johnson has very few high-end cards and the rare late-90's inserts are hot.

Pretty crazy he was able to get 430 cards out of that set signed. Admirable, assuming real of course.

I think bidders think these are pack pulled, and I see some charge backs coming his way.

Item description states all his autographs were in person, through mail, or from reputable collectors.Savvy bidders know all Topps autographs have "Topps Certified Autograph" stamped somewhere on the card.Plus, certified autographs never have the fake signature stamped on it either. You're probably right, but bidders should know better.

Is it possible that the fact he had so many got a bunch of people who were going for the set to compete against each other? Just a thought, but I imagine many people assumed that this might be their one chance in a long time to get these...

Could be, but damn expense to complete the whole set would be through the roof.PC certified autographs would seem way more desirable. Can it not be cheaper to buy an Ortiz base and send payment to whatever foundation or charity he has (if he has one)?

Don't follow hockey, can't say that I've even heard of this guy. But a non auto, non relic, numbered to 99 for over $670 DLVD makes me want to open some hockey boxes. What am I missing?

The regular Ice rookies are /999 or /1999. The /99's are reserved for the best players. Crazy tough to find and crazy expensive

I was curiosity watching this when it was at $30. When I switched back to the tab and it had ended at $197, I exchanged the crap in Holy Crap for something else. Set builder?

I was blown away by this one as well. I was the last sane bid on it
