Exactly what would be acceptable to you right now. Would you prefer they just shut the whole site down?

How long did you expect it to take to create a database of tens of millions of cards?

How many challenge points did you do, or are you just having fun kicking a company by pointing out the obvious as they are rebuilding?

If this is directed at me, just going to move past it because all that'll come from me responding is us just getting into a pissing match.

Let's just say there is NOTHING wrong with me feeling like a site has gone sideways that I'm a loyal member of and have spent A LOT of money on. Would do the same for any company that this happens to be the case for me... Public, private, online or not.

Also, not my problem they got screwed by Beckett. If they're in the right, they'll make out in court. If they're wrong, they'll lose their a$$ in court and again, not my problem but have a problem with the false front they had for so long.

Just to be clear again, I've spent a lot of $ on the site and have been a huge fan. What's taken place lately is a joke and the site is a complete mess right now. Sorry for pointing out the obvious but it's frustrating as a customer. Period.

COMC seems to have labelled the unecategorized cards as "2015," which makes them easily searchable. 47,901 cards which are not attributed to any set. Many of these appear to be fairly obscure, such as magic and soccer cards, and many do have other information, such as card number or team.

This only includes cards which have not been assigned a set by COMC. There are many other cards that are assigned in part or in whole, but are missing other pieces of information.

I won't complain (much), the challenges scored me about 40 free cards in April. Spending their money was about the only way I felt comfortable dropping $15 on one of those pesky 1993 Finest Refractors I needed.

I agree. I haven't bought store credit since the challenges started and have added a lot of "free" cards to my PC. They recently had a free shipping offer too, which made the cards truly free (if you don't count the time it takes to do the challenges).

I'm in total agreement. Usually spend a couple hundred there a month, have tried searching twice this months and it's just a mess with nothing I need popping up. Not worth my time to wade through the junk, I'd say every page has about 30-40% of the listings messed up.

Anything official on what happened with Beckett? I had read they pulled their checklist last minute but I don't understand why COMC would be so heavily dependent on them. COMC have been around long enough that they could have teamed up with zistle or created this database over the years.

At this point I hope COMC have 30-50 temps set up call-marketer style tagging cards. If they are trying to protect bottom line by having users and sellers do their job then they will be out of business soon. They should have stepped it up and got as many temps as possible to get up to date...24/7.

True, but it was the same time I'd usually be spending cruising the boards or watching YouTube videos.
Fair enough. If you calc it, it's less than minimum wage but as you said, it's time you'd be screwing around anyways, so you got some cards (money) out of it.

Well the database seems to have improved tremendously over the last few weeks, at least for the things I search for. They were doing a security update this morning however and now their search is all wonky again. Searches are only returning 2-10 results that should return hundreds

It has gotten a lot better in the past few weeks, but there is still a lot of work to do. I think they failed a bit on this one. They should have hired a hoard of temps to start building the data. Instead, they relied on the challenges and offering pennies to members to build it, which doesn't appear to have worked all that well.

Data is bad and now they are spending all their time fixing data issues vs. processing inbound shipments of cards. My last submission of about 300 cards took 4 months to complete. Yes, they started adding a few here and there after about a month but it took forever for them to get through the whole batch.

I still like the convenience of the site and will continue to sell low end stuff there, but I can see where this would turn off a lot of potential buyers and sellers.

I'm really surprised so many people are still flooding COMC with new submissions, knowing full well the state of the site, yet still whining when their cards don't get added as quickly as they'd like. Can people seriously not take a break from submitting for a month and let them catch up?

A well run company wouldn't let internal changes they decide to make affect their customer service. Imagine if a company like Walmart decided to modify their logistics and expected their customers to take a break from buying stuff for a few months so they could make their changes.

It is a justified complaint from a long time customer, not whining. Also, if they can't process submissions they shouldnt advertise expected completion dates they can't come close to hitting. Mine was supposed to be completed in April according to COMC, but just got done a week ago.

But when everyone can read the same current events since April, it's not justified to expect everything to be "business as usual" when there is nothing ideal about their situation. Yes, they made a huge miscalculation and probably should have put a moratorium on new submissions for a couple of weeks (or all of April) to be able to catch up, but that would likely have put a huge dent in their cash flow.

But they are not 100% functional, and whether they have adequately adjusted their policies on their web site or not, when everyone KNOWS COMC is currently digging themselves out of a huge hole, they shouldn't constantly (and I'm not necessarily singling you out here) complain about the service while STILL sending in new batches for processing (which isn't helping with the backlog) knowing full well that the submissions will be late.

So if you KNOW the service is not currently up to their optimal standards, why continue to submit cards and complain about the service? It's as annoying as all the whining about eBay's service and fees while refusing to do business with any site but eBay.

Where are you getting all this continuing and continue to from? My op mentioned ONE submission I made in February that took 4 months to complete. Where did I ever mention I knowingly sent in a submission after all of these issues came up expecting anything?

Your assuming I am whining about something I knew would happen is as annoying as someone assuming you are whining about something based on a made up scenario they have in there mind.

As I mentioned, I still like their ease of business and will continue to use their site.

Like I said, not necessarily about you, but there are constantly new threads here, at Blowout, SCF, people posting on COMC's Facebook page, on COMC's blog making the exact same complaints about the painfully obvious state of the site. And more than half of them seem to expect the site to have been magically fully functional on April 1st and expect business as usual service despite all evidence to the contrary that such is possible right now.
