I quit collecting baseball cards and focused more on Magic the Gathering and Basketball cards. It helped a ton that the Rockets were doing quite well during those years.

It's called Solidarity! The MLBPA protected what was their's and rightfully so. If you want to have a Union vs non-Union chat in the General forum, I'd be glad to do so!

Here's the deal, the minor leaguers were not part of the union and many were told in not so many words, play in the ST replacement games or your days in professional baseball are over. My grandfather and father were life long UAW members, so I get the union thing, but I always thought it was a ****** move by the MLBPA to keep them out once those handful of guys reached the majors.

I agree ****** move. In the next 100 years, as unions finally die or are transformed into professional organizations and competitive labor becomes more important, the MLBPA will still be standing.
