Nats for Tyler Clippard.

He didn't last long in Oakland.

One year of Desmond, plus a draft pick when he bolts via FA, is not worth Six years of Syndergaard. If you trade him, it should be for talent that would be here for at least a few years, not one....

Which is exactly why it won't happen. Only way you get Desmond is with Syndy and the Mets won't do that. The Mets over value their pitching drastically and continue to flounder by making poor signings and hoping all their pitching turns out.

A way to ignite the fanbase and get some excitement in the Mets; Swing a huge blockbuster for Zimmerman and Desmond using Syndy, Plawecki, and another mid to high end piece plus Flores and maybe some low level guys. Sign them both to big extensions. The Mets instantly become 1000% more competitive.

Prospects more often than not don't pan out. The Mets are hoping all of theirs will. Just won't happen.

Yayyy Tyson agrees with me!

The Mets have all the resources in the world to be a top contender. But they do things so weirdly. They have money to spend but they spend it on Cuddyer, Granderson, Chris Young, Etc. They have a very solid prospect and young player core all they need to do is build smartly. Thats it.

But they don't lol

Seems like Escobar gets flipped quite a bit. It's his 2nd or 3rd time to play in the NL East.

Probably because he is a slightly above average short stop but not someone who is a long term fit on most teams. He's an easily moveable piece and most teams like him since SS has hardly any top end guys.
