Hey all,

I recently was looking through COMC and found some Puello autos for cheap so I decided to do a little research on him to see if he would be worth buying. After reading up on him, it looks like he was an absolute stud for a few years in the minors. Speed, Power, Defense. Many believe he was a real five tool player. However, he got suspended in teh Biogenesis scandal but was still protected from the rule V draft by the mets. Now, he has an outside chance to make the team as a back up OF and has more speed than any of the OF's on the roster. If he performs well this year I can imagine he will get a real nice bump up. Blues are around 5-8 bucks, golds around 20 which is really cheap and I think could be a real nice buy.

What are your opinions on him? Maybe some mets fans or people who have watched him play in person can chime in?

Thanks!

I'm a Mets fan. I started collecting Puello, then stopped. It seems he was going to be a stud, but after the Biogenesis, his stats dropped. It was enough to scare me off for the time but always keep an eye out. I'd proceed with caution.

His stats dropped after that suspension but he has really picked it back up.

After the all star break last year he batted the following: .286 with 3 HR's 15 RBIs and some steals in 36 games.

His power is obviously not where it was but he still has speed along with a nice bat from what I've read.

I don't think I'll start heavily collecting him but buying a few blues at 5-7 bucks and maybe some refs or base for lower seems pretty low risk. If he does ANYTHING at all he should double at least. If not I can probably move the blues for 5 a piece anyways.

Thanks for the post man! Nice to hear from a Mets fan who has watched him more than I have.

For that price and looking at it that way, I agree. I had considered an expensive refractor auto but I got scared of that. I will make sure I don't bid against you. Lol

I was hoping he pans out. Maybe with his speed he could produce at CitiField. Doesn't need to hit dingers necessarily.

As long as you realize that his first prospect autographs were all the way back in 2010 Sterling. I know that "chrome is king", but if I was a new collector and was looking for his "best card" I would go after the earlier Sterling card.

A 2010 Sterling black ref /25 recently sold at auction for a whopping seven dollars, so those chrome prices may not be as great as they first appear.
Good luck.

Chrome still will outsell sterling typically (which using your example already does). Whether or not the chrome was his first auto or not does not truly matter. Chrome will still outsell sterling even if the sterling came first. Just how it works.

He's gonna be the next Mike Trout, so bid accordingly. I heard his blue wave will be his most popular auto.

Btw, anyone wanna buy mine?
