Back to patches:). But let's keep the barrel and knob talk going also....I love it:)

i am am two cards short on completing a set from 2004 upper deck sp game used patch. I am missing the joe torre cards card and the Tom Seaver mets card. Would love to pick them up and finish my set if anybody has any?

will try to post my other epic quad barrel also some time;)

Nice set but your missing Vlad also?

I could be wrong but I don't think I am. Their are a couple sets that look similar to each other, but think this is strictly a retired only set.

But with a picture I can always be wrong :)

You are correct I think as it was different set. Guerrero would be better than fred Lynn though :)

Also I have a record of the 2012 national treasures Lou Gehrig Knob and it sold for 6767 via auction so Yesterdays Gehrig was a great deal. Also That NT Williams Knob you were talking about sold for 3858 via auction.

Any records of cobb knob sale prices? Even though this is the best example I've ever seen. You absolutely hit a home run on the gehrig! Good job :)

None of those nameplates are mine, wish I would have seen the Cobb five star but I never did.
hornby barrel for 14.5k is nuts hana

and yes Zan I won the Cobb knob for 4938

That 14.5 was probably the list price , WP doesn't show the price if an offer was accepted , so I'm sure that's inflated.

Here are some images of some Knobs , if anyone was interested , off WP. Prices , if they weren't auction style may not show a BO accepted price. The 2012 Five Star set was amazing looking ! I know the pics from the phone don't show well on here , but still cool to see the pieces IMO.

Just proves that A LOT of money was left on the table for the Gehrig knob. The cosigner should have made some attempt to break up the sale of these items but I'm guessing they're not someone who cares a ton about a few thousand bucks

Yes the person who owned these lost a lot of money, the only one he made money on was pedro (a few hundred) and that because there is a guy right now paying a lot for any highend pedro. The Schmidt knob was purchased for 1000 and sold for half that along with some of the lower end knobs. I dont care what anyone says sunday and monday nights are the absolute best times to end items! In addition to listing them all together they also listed them for a 5 day auction which was stupid. 5 days may work best for prospects but not for this type of item. He needed to list them for 7-10 days. There were all kinds of ways they could have maximized ending sale and this may sound mean but im glad they dint as saved a lot of money.

Cool , I'd love to see the correct prices. That Hornsby really took that big loss in only 3 months ? Ouch

Yeah I agree with everything you said, you never know even someone with super deep pockets could have something happen where they need to liquidate right away. But there's no question that thousands overall were left on the table IMO.

I didnt bid on the gehrig simply from the design of the card and the barrel itself. The five star IMO is just worth the extra funds.

Grats on the Cobb. The knobs are really getting some nice numbers. For the same money would you prefer a barrel or a knob.
