So, yeah. If anyone of you won that Grove, you'd be doing me a HUGE solid to trade me for one of the ones I have. Obviously, the smaller NT ones are running about $20 under that price, right now, but the "P" Prime Cuts one should be about even.
I did win the Grove. Let me do some research, if that's ok. I'd like to find out how rare the white Grove is and I'd like to shop around to see if I can line up a replacement. Just because I collect HOF patches and I don't have any kind of prime Grove card it'd be a little tough to part with but if I decide to let it go you're the first guy I'd contact and I'll trade it to you for a blue piece I think I got it at a steal so I wouldn't mind doing you a favor at all $20 is no big deal it's really just about whether or not I'd want to let it go right away.
That's cool. Just as far as what info I have...
I contacted Panini when NT was released to verify the material used for Grove hats. I am one of the few people I assume they actually provide that answer to, and I was told that the material that they used in NT is from a Boston Red Sox hat that they received the remnants of from DLP. The white material is from a Philadelphia Athletics hat.. or so I am told.
While the A's pieces tend to be more limited, I don't know that it's because they are more rare or if more was used prior to DLP going out of business.
I do appreciate the consideration.
(Edit: and they did use some of the white material in NT, but the navy is far more abundant in that release. I don't know the ratio in DLP releases.)

Interesting, I didn't realize that they'd be from two different hats but that makes sense where are you really going to get white from the Red Sox hat besides maybe on the inside somewhere I don't even know. I'd imagine the green relic you have on your NT is the rarest?
That's so sweet man, awesome design too and the knob is in great condition no crack but lots of nice wear. Maybe this will motivate you to buy some more, just not the same ones I'm bidding on![]()
