Am I the only one who wonders if it sells for a grand so fast, how high it may have gone in auction format.

It is disappointing that ebay is turning into a BIN society. Good for those finding deals quickly, but bad for sellers who don't trust that something good will sell for more. I have seen a number of items I would have bid strong on sell at BINs before I even see them. I only know because I started checking ended listings to see the crap I am missing out on!

Congratulations on the big flip!

I may be a bit naïve here, but forgive me for asking. But what makes that a 1K card? I understand it's a printing plate of a future HOF'er, but I don't get it.

Not naive, maybe just uninformed of the tendency lately for 2 deep pocket buyers to be willing to spend a seemingly endless amount of money on unique Vizquel cards. Andres Galarraga is also in this same category to some extent right now too.

Congratulations on the big flip!

Market is not that deep. 2 big time buyers drive it and they do not always overlap. If they both do not show up without a minimum it reverts back to $10 or $20. Best to protect yourself and take the wins when you can get them. Well done!

Was about to state something similar other than it coulda been started at $999.99 then go from there if multiple bidders.

I don't sell and could frankly care less about the OV trend, so maybe I am missing something lager here, but unless the buyers are only grabbing 1 color of a press proof, then the market for a 1/1 press prof should remain strong. Are you saying these two buyers, spending $1000s on these cards would pass on a Magenta if they already had a Cyan of the same card set? That would be more odd than the prices we have seen already. I'd spend nothing close to that on a Garvey 1/1, but if I had one, I'd try for the other three.

If it were put up via auction I'm pretty sure it would have gotten over a grand. The 2 big buyers will always notice when a 1/1 Vizquel shows up and I've seen auctions end for over $10k on his 1/1's (although those were autos I believe).

I'd still be very happy to get $1k for a printing plate, as I can't stand the things. Won't even collect printing plates of the players I super collect.
