All legends eventually retire and the guy who takes over has impossible shoes to fill.

But sometimes they are "successful"

Can you name some?

Here's mine.

No one expected Didi Gregorius to do this well and make the "Jeter transfer" go so smoothly.

Interesting that it was 3 straight HOFers but the replacement was always a tier lower. Then Greenwell who was just an all-star.

I agree. Didi had massive shoes to fill and has done very well. Maybe Tino coming n after Donny baseball too although he wasn't exactly a nobody
