Its really disappointING that Pinnacle/Select didn't stick around for a few more years. The evolution of their insert technology was getting really interesting.

2 complete sets of these just popped up on the Juangone web site. Not none of mine.

Completely agree. '98 Select had the typical "super sweet" designs of this era for their base and inserts while '98 Pinnacle Certified was stunning - it pulled off the high-end look and feel that was intended.

Very nice. Respectfully however, these were from Pinnacle Certified, not Select (no Epix were to be inserted into the Select brand).

I've shown these before. I'd be interested in a Rare Form that's NOT chipped and damaged and basically ANY 1998 Select Clemens available

It’s funny with these. I don’t think their are any that are not chipped or damaged on the tier 1-4. It seems everybody’s has some and some worse than others. Just my thoughts.

Yea, these definitely would have had a “!” next to them in Beckett back in the day! What’s odd is when I see “gem” graded versions of any card from this set - upon closer look the edges are usually chipped yet still receive a 9 or 9.5. But that’s another conversation.

Have more pictures to share, confirming the existence of more players. Pinnacle Man probably did have a full set of the Select base (except the 3-Stars) and Jersey Number parallels.

Yea, I think these are high asking prices as well. At least AUTaxMan now has some clearer scans to add to the website!

Just realized that I’ve never seen a 3-Star Base of any player. Really peculiar.

agreed. a bit odd since most of the other cards made it out. as it is, I have an "incomplete' quasar rainbow of Pedro Martinez!
