Just depends on how bad you want something. This particular version had 21 sets redeemed, so it is one of the "easier" to find of the run, but none of them are easy. Someone first had to break the set in order for singles to be available. Wonder how many complete sets remain of any version. I know there is one on ebay right now with a $1000 OBO asking price on it!

I picked up 12 of my PC players from the NL Central set break on ebay that ended a few nights ago for under $23 dlvd. With all the insane Thome prices, I managed to get it for just $2. Actually got several at 49¢ (Beckett, Palmeiro, Sheets, Helton)! The same seller, lilslip, has relisted the leftovers at $1.09 (with a few exceptions), and I do see some players I think people here collect:

Hey all...

Looking for more copies of:

2005 Prestige Playoff Champions #78 Bucky Jacobsen. Hoping to build a 2nd set.

Also, anyone have photos to share for holofoils (refractor-ish looking)?

I've seen these:
AL Central (Larkin)
AL Wild Card (Larkin)
NL Central (Hudson)
NL Wild Card (Larkin, Sosa)
World Series (Larkin, Bucky Jacobsen)

This popped up in a facebook group yesterday too, with a link back to this thread. Are you the culprit there too?

They all are holofoil
Only your NL Wild Card has the holofoil / refractor looking element.

All of these are foil. Only certain cards have holofoil (refractor look). What I'm trying to sort out is why some sets have them and some presumably do not.

If there is a pattern or reason, I am not aware. I checked my Garvey cards and this is the finish, these are quite tricky to photograph in quantity

.

I also copied the print runs from a blowout thread, just to see if the print run drove the finish, but that does not seem to be the case.

AL Champ - Foil (12)
NL Champ - Foil (7)
AL Central Div - Holofoil/Refractor Effect (27)
AL East Div - Foil (20)
AL West Div - Foil (17)
NL Central Div - Holofoil/Refractor Effect (21)
NL East Div - Foil (18)
NL West Div - Foil (18)
AL Wildcard - Holofoil/Refractor Effect (13)
NL Wildcard - Holofoil/Refractor Effect (15)

I see what you are saying now. I took another pic & the World Series Champs is holofoil as well. They look like the XTRA BASES holofoil. In the regular set, the holofoils were had a print run of /25. I wonder if the holofoil champion cards were 1/1 since the sets were so limited. See this attached pic:

Yeah, I'm really stumped on why they did this.

I wondered if the first x sets were holos and then everything after were plain foil. Looks like all or nothing from what I've seen thusfar.

I'm building another set of Bucky Jacobsen. About 1/2 there

I have a couple dupes, but I don't recall the finish. I think it was one of the holofoil finishes though. What would be interesting is if anyone else with a complete player run (or anyone for that matter) had a different finish for any of the cards than what I listed above. If so, that would prove there were multiple finishes for any one single card. I don't think that is the case, but that is just me going with my gut. I do not have any dupes in different finishes.

Best of success with those. Singles have pretty well dried up on my player.

Someone listed 3 of the 4 I need for my sizemores, but the prices are a bit extravagant. Don't feel like dropping over $100 on those. Hopefully they cut the price or add best offers.
