Found these at a new LCS.

How did I NOT know these existed?

The ‘84 base set was one of my faves as a kid but I never heard of these until yesterday.

Got 2 of them, 1 per pack.

The Kittle mighta be a monster card back then.604920F6-35C5-4AAF-A58B-661C7568E4F8.jpeg

Looks like they made them from ‘84-86. Did they make more of these sets for different years?

Any help is appreciated…

Here's the 1981 Topps Home Team Photos National (Front & Back)

In 1985 & 1986 The Topps Super looked just like the base card on front & back. Then in 1987 they went the other way with the mini.

Donruss also did the jumbo DK sets in the same size, don't recall the first year, but I know for sure 88-91 and then the super tough 92 set.

I'd have to find them, but I ended up with a couple 86T jumbos that were preproduction/promos and noted as such on the back. Gossage was one, I don't recall the other. Garvey is in that set, so would love to find a promo/preproduction of his card, if one exists.

No Topps Supers like that were confined to 1984-86. You will also come across salesman's samples as well.
When I was cleaning prior to moving in 2018 wrote a quick blurb about them HERE in my Red Sox 365 Day thread
If I ever get done with my Clemens inventory will go back and start writing again and dig up the paperwork

Topps also did the weird 3-D jumbo cards from 85-86. An acquired taste, I guess.
Yes, those were pretty stupid. Embossed would have maybe been a better name for them. Cards that are not flat are a storage nightmare for most. I have a set of one year, maybe both. They were a real bust though. Kind of like the cutout cardboard heads with suction cups that came a few years later! It's neat that they experimented with so many odd concepts, but many were not worth the time they spent.

Topps also reprinted top RC's in jumbo form in their magazine ,which they discontinued sadly. I have a few more kicking around...have 2 of Brett ( both O/C) so if someone needs it give me a shout.

That was a great Mag. I was a subscriber when it folded. 16 total issues, so an easy run for anyone to put together. None of them are very hard to find.

What would be really cool to see is one of the signed jumbo cards. They had contests for signed copies and maybe even a few were inserted into subscriptions, at least that is what I remember. Have never seen one that i recall of any of the 4 (Winfield, Ryan, Brett and Eck).

I actually create 1/1 original art with these cards. (1984-86 Topps) Collectors have seem to enjoy them for their personal collections. It gives someone that has all their favorite player’ cards, something one of a kind and different. Thanks for looking!
