A 1/1 from his playing career is always a big pickup for my Trent Dilfer collection - 2006 Topps Turkey Red Suede 1/1.

2004 Ultra Platinum Medallions have been really difficult for me to find, plus there are a lot of unnumbered replacement cards floating around that get in the way. Keith Foulke 63/66 gets my team set needs down to 5.
Need to get out my TRENT collection ----Son's name Trent . have G/son Eli , Cody and Bryant. Family = go thru Trenton ,Georgia to get to Bryant ,Alabama LOL

Went all Vito Corleone on fellow Clemens collector @jmc855 with an offer he couldn't refuse and have obtained these two

One completes the 2004 Bowmans Best series for me once slabbed, the other completes all the 2005 E-Topps 1/1 variations from the 2007 E-Convention 5. Appreciate the help Jay !!

I have a run of these baseball team checklist sheets from 75-82 (and some football and basketball too) and will pick up dupes when they are cheap. I envision cutting some down someday, probably won't ever happen though. if you are not familiar, these checklists were available via an advertisement on wax wrappers each year. They differ from the regular set, as they have white stock backs. They have become a bit of an advanced collectible for team and player collectors who also collect checklists featuring their players and can be tough to find at times.

File under things i wasnt expecting to popup....... i needed a Red Sox, already had Yanks. Quite happy. Very minor surface depression, but really nice overall for such a thick foil card. I might snip the thread with the precision scissors out of neuroticism lol......

The Dilfer is a 2001 Playoff Buyback auto, I already had one but when the uniform number 08/14 popped up I grabbed it. Weird card, with the crappy sharpie and Bible inscription it looks like an in-person auto rather than something a card company would actually insert in packs. 2023 Ginter mark Mulder auto. 1998 Leaf Fractal Materials Die Cut Matt Stairs 0190/3250, with the first 200 being die-cut. I need a couple more for the team set but they are both /50.

Lastly, the Chavez/Beltre finally completes the 2005 Reflections Dual Signature Red/99 "team set" of all 17 cards that feature at least one A's player. Some highlights from the set:

I'm 2 short of the Blue/35 team set (a common and the Crosby/Jeter) and am just missing the Crosby/Jeter for the base unnumbered set. Not too eager to buy two more Jeters.

So here's a rabbit hole i dont wanna dive down...... checklists with Clemens on them.

Worse, chrome refractor ones. So theres base, base chrome, and chrome refractor.......smh. was an umplanned LCS grab that he keptvaside for me, but its opeing a big can of worms. Has a lot of other big names too, but Clemens is on at least 4 cards in 99 Topps.

Also interestingly NOT marked refractor on back like the player cards are, but clearly a refractor.

I HATED when Topps did that. Imagine buying a box of Chrome/Finest and the only refractor is a friggin' checklist.

I'm on a roll, two new additions to my Dilfer collection in the space of 2 weeks (not counting the serial number upgrade from yesterday). This is a 1996 Collector's Edge Running Mates Trent Dilfer/Errict Rhett. The base version is /2000 (obviously have one of those), then there's a Gold parallel/10 that I've never seen, an unnumbered Gold parallel I've never seen, plus big 8x10 Jumbo base/2000 and Gold/200 versions that I've owned for years. This version I was unaware of, a regular-sized "Collector's Series" numbered CS175/500. Beckett doesn't list it so it's not something I had been looking for. TCDB does list it. I'm still finding "new" cards from nearly 30 years ago.

1999 Black Diamond Quadruple AJ Hinch 094/100 gets me one away from the team set. 1997 Leaf Fractal Matrix Die Cuts Canseco completes the team set. And a more modern pickup, 2019 Topps Chrome Gold Refractor Ramon Laureano RC 09/50.

Was able to acquire this 1953 Kansas City Monarchs photo. The photo features a young Ernie Banks (6th from right) and supposedly came from a scrapbook from Monarchs teammate and former Philly Pancho Herrera.

Bought it framed, not knowing if it was a Type I (printed from original negative within 2 years of being taken). Opened the frame to find the photo glued to a foam back. Thankfully, through careful, slow work, was able to remove the foam on the back and reveal the original backing. 99% sure it is a Type I. I tried finding other examples that have sold but have come up empty so far.
