My 5th copy of the Torre (I think there's more than the 7 copies of each base card that some people believe.)

There are definitely more than 7 copies of some cards. Back when it came out, there were at least that many Miggy Cabreras and Bo Jacksons that sold on ebay. I suspect that it was a random distribution with clumping where we got 10+ of some, and as few as 1 of others. It took years before the full checklist was known, and technically it still isn't.

I love that Torre. The muttonchops, turtleneck, and suede jacket with hang-glider collar just...chef's kiss. I've never sought out an autograph but that's the card I'd have him sign if I had the chance. That and the Bob Gibson inspired me to start a small collection of players in their freshest street clothes.
