I just picked up a 1996 Select Certified Blue parallel (Blue, not Mirror Blue) and noticed that the surface has what looks like small bubbles and some scratches. I compared the surface to a Certified Red parallel (again Red, not Mirror Red) and the surface looks similar to that of the Blue with the small bubbles and scratches. Is there a peel on the Blue and Red parallels? Is there also a peel on the Artist's Proof and base cards as well?

Not sure if I've ever shown this Rolen since it was in the PC side of my storage and not the selling side but one from the 1999 Upper Deck Textbook Excellence sub series

Yes they all have a peel on them.

Another 90's Finest refractor . Took pics for an online collector of Cubbies. Had it because of my Finest sets run. These come in Base and Refractor versions. Pop 5 or so NONE higher

Dragged some 1998 Finest Bagwells from storage as I try and lessen the load in retirement

Pop 1 after 27 years still. Regular scanner shows the front as dull and back as a dark mass. Had to use the phone on this one. Harder to Gem the non protected pack issued items than people expect

Going in my feebay store tonite

This one I have to find where I put my Refractor version as that one I need to lock up in the safe despoit box and not the storage unit. While numbered to 500 still a toughie. Most of those Gems were pre AI- this one occurred right during the switch over. My eyes caught a minor corner issue but a great surface, great edging and perfect centering

Enjoy 🤩

Ok found another 1998 Finest Bagwell hiding in the bottom of the box those came in above.

Pop 2 and tough to Gem

Think the rest are 1997 and prior in this box. Will show some football in my grading post

Enjoy 😍

I'm looking for reassurance that the Paul Molitor is not a 1997 SPx Grand Finale especially when compared to a similar scan:

Neither one looks like a grand finale

I am fairly certain that the Alomar is a Grand Finale (COMC has several other scans with the Gold colored hologram). After comparing more examples, the Molitor definitely is not.

In other news, I've been grading a few cards from my collection. I picked out one card for each year 1992–97 for the photo. No Mojo, Chrome, Ohtani, Downtowns, or Gems so these are probably bargain bin candidates. No bangers here:

I'd want any Grand Finale in hand before $ leaves my hand 🛑🛑 is what my brain tells me. Opinion of course,,,,I tend to want in person inspection, or better high res phone pics on rare 90's items,,,,,

None of those 6 Pucketts btw are bargain bins as the term is used by normal people ALL averaging $100+ , with the last PSA 8 of the 93 Finest selling over $500 +.

Nice KP collection there 🥰

I have Gold and Base ED Pucketts sitting waiting on a 90's PSA special that probably will sit now for a while.

I received the Grand Finale and it was definitely a Gold. You're right, it was easy to tell in hand. I'm slightly disappointed with COMC misidentification, but they accepted the return right away when I sent comparison pictures and their own scans.

Haha! My joke didn't land. ;) I've been watching Whatnot streams and often wonder how these cards would be described by debutsports_ or a similar personality. I think the Finest refractors and Thunderclap card might be recognized because of their similarity to Jordan-era basketball inserts, but the rarity of the Electric Diamond Gold and '97 Fleer Tiffany would likely be overlooked.

Exciting! Definitely send that Gold ED in when PSA lifts the Value tier suspension. Condition sensitive and a tough pull.
