That is a cool pin. There are a few out there on ebay right now getting some big $$ bids.
As a celebratory side note, I have crossed a few milestones in my Rickey collection recently that I'd like to share:
6,000+ different Rickey items
10,000+ total Rickey items
That is a lot of "stuff" in a...
That is utterly amazing. I don't even know where to begin describing my fascination. Kudos to the artist! BTW, what is that BEHIND the awesome leather piece? Is that some sort of uncut sheet?
SWEET SHARES! I hadn't ever seen the 04 Playoff Prime Cuts Gold Dodgers /10...pretty cool.
BTW, I'm working on a "master list" of Rickeys. I have been working to combine my list with lists from 3 other Rickey super-collectors. I'll share it when complete...but if you have a list, I'd love to...
I like how the back of this card forever shames the 5.19% of baseball writers who for some unknown reason did NOT vote for Rickey on the HOF ballot. They should have their voting rights taken away for such foolishness! :)
A little help from the community... I frequently see this item on Rickey lists: 1986 Yankees Team Photo Pennant. And, yes, Rickey should absolutely be in this team photo. But for the life of me, I cannot spot where he is.... can anyone point me to where Rickey is in this photo?
I also have this cool 1988 NYC Metro Subway MTA poster -- sorry for the small pic, but it is also buried in the back of my closet behind the Oakley promo.
I have something else that would look kind of cool in that room... this is an Oakley sunglasses in-store promo. It is 2 ft x 5 ft, flexible plastic. In addition to Rickey its got Lance Armstrong and Annika Sorenstam. I picked it up from Ken Cohan years ago. (no, its not currently for sale...plus...
I found it! All in all, for a card cut from a box, it is in pretty good condition. See the scans. The only noticeable wear is a scuff line down the left side, and in the bottom edge most noticeably the left corner. The cut lines are pretty good too. For some reason I can't upload pics in the...
I have one cut, and one uncut (whole box). I'd probably part ways with the cut-from-the-box version. DM me with an offer. (and start getting some doubles of some good Rickeys so you can trade me for stuff :ROFLMAO:). (OH, and that base is sweet. If you could somehow position the green Mizuno...
WOW! I only have 14, many of which I picked up way back when they were $15-$20 each (yes, I am THAT old!) :) 🧓 One of my collecting crowning achievements was taking one of my most mint Rickey rookies and then building an entire 1980 Topps set around it where all the cards were well centered...
That is awesome. Love it. BTW, I am putting some interesting (low serial numbered) Rickeys up for sale tonight on ebay. Hopefully I get some good prices for them. 🤞
Another Mail Day! (burning through my budget pretty quickly). This is my 12th Rickey that is serial numbered #/3, and my 5th Rickey with a piece of a laundry tag.
Mail day! This one is SUPER sweet! This may be my favorite purchase in the past few months (although it is close with the Mantle/Mays above). The Rickey patch is green (although it doesn't look like it in this pic...there's also a little sliver of yellow above it which doesn't show here either).
Milestone brag :cool::
I just got my 1000th Rickey item that has a serial number or print run of 30 or less.
It was also my first item with Mantle and/or Mays relics on it. Stoked as a baseball fan for this one.
I also picked up this cool one (not the greatest picture, but serial numbered...
That is jaw-droppingly cool. Superb job with that and good foresight. (y)👏 Now...just wait until this year when Topps (to capitalize on the popularity) runs 1406 different artists out there and they'll each paint a different portrait of a base for each one Rickey stole in his career. :ROFLMAO:
The devil is in the details! Nice! Hey, I recognize most of these but this one intrigues me. Can you provide a story behind this one? Is it custom? Is it a print?
I like finding stuff I didn't know existed for 30 years... like this 1991 National Sports Daily "Cross Country Edition" dated May 3rd. I have two variants from May 2nd (the regular and the Late Final edition), but didn't know this existed until I was just bopping around aimlessly on ebay...
I'm glad to see these awesome cards are going to collectors and not "investors" (although you may be considered both ;)). Keep the coolness coming; it is fun to gawk at.
That is a nice card. I too picked up the regular one recently (I love Ricky Cobb's Twitter feed...it was a double "Ricky/Rickey" fan purchase :) ). I haven't seen a Rickey Auto from that set hit ebay yet. With the way recent prices have been going, you'd likely get close (if not over) $100 for...
