Does anyone know which 1992 Topps Gold cards have been found with the foil missing? Was it the whole set, or just one or two different sheets? I was looking at some on eBay and realized that out of the 4 or 5 players I collect in that set, I've only found the no-foil card for one of them.
Has anyone compiled a list of these, yet? I was hoping to find one here, but it is still just scattered information. I checked my collection, and I have 3 Winfields from 1993 (NJ, VA and generic). I also have the (1998?) Expos & Blue Jays sets that I got in some lot of oversized oddballs.
None of the better checklist sites allow any kind of convenient export option as they are all paranoid that it will result in someone swiping their entire database and starting a competing site. While there is some merit to that paranoia, I also think people will always use the better site, and...
I had to enhance my Hensley Meulens saved search because both sellers and manufacturers misspell his name: (meulens, muelens, meullens, muellens). In searches on Japanese sites, it phonetically translates to Mullen or Mullin, as well.
Technically there were only two editions, the latest in 2000. Then from 2001-2005, the new minor league set information was just tacked on the end of the regular Standard Catalog. After 2005, they effectively abandoned adding new minor league checklist information.
While I don't have an elaborate story to tell, thanks to a post on TradingCardDB.com, I learned about yet another variation of the 1991 Score All-Star Fanfest/National cards. I updated my blog post about them: https://clydes-stalecards.blogspot.com/2009/12/taste-rainbow.html
The new variant...
Looks like they are part of the ReAction line from Super7, which does a wide variety of pop culture figures in the style of the old Kenner Star Wars series from the 1970s-80s.

According to the writing on the back of the photo, it is my great great grandfather, Edwin Batterson Webb (Bat) Brockett (1852-1920). But as it does not quite match the only other photo I have that I know is him, I suspect it is actually my 3rd great grandfather, Nathaniel Dickeson Brockett...
Could I get a hand filling in the gaps for the 2010 Disabled American Veterans sets? These were given away as team sets at the stadiums of participating teams on a special day sponsored by the DAV. I'm trying to get them documented to post on TradingCardDatabase, but have exhausted my...
Ah, I think I found it. The Yankees played a 5 game series in Hawaii on their way to Japan. The lineup card matches the box score from their 12 October 1955 game versus the Hawaii Red Sox.
Martin missed most of 1955 due to his military service. He didn't join the team until September, so the card isn't from Spring Training. According to Baseball Reference, he played 3 games at SS that year, which were his first three games back. If the lineups are correct on the site, he didn't...
I don't have any of my large format stuff on display, so ultimately decided I didn't need yet another big thing stuck in a closet or behind a door.

I'm pretty sure they did them in 1993, as well, but at that point they were just 8x10 photos that had TV Sports Mailbag stamped on the back. Photo stock rather than card stock.

Oddly, if it had been Hensley Meulens, I probably wouldn't have blinked. I just have to accept that the last handful of Pacific Kelly cards I need will all likely be like this.
