Thought I would bump this thread with a fun acquisition. This one had been teasing me for a while and the price seemed to keep getting a little better. Then with the 10% eBay bucks I took the plunge! I didn’t start out trying to do it but I have a nearly complete set at this point too. Missing a...
Tanner - do you have any advice you can share on where you found the best values on your recent buys? Were most from eBay? If so no reserve auctions? Did you do Best Offer and go back and forth on price? Are there some private deals to be had from collectors who are downsizing? Or maybe auction...
Lol. This thread is becoming pretty hilarious. Agreed with all the other posters here other than Chris.
Creating a system wide rule all because of your bad experience in a highly isolated example is classic over-reaction. eBay is greedy and stupid so they just might do it. But realistically...
Look at that sucker fly! Already $5,400 with 8 days left. Interesting to watch for sure. Go get it, Jeter guys! You have some fiesty Rolen collectors to contend with!

Ouch - yeah a card like that at $1,000 is a steal when the prior one appeared to sell for $10K just a couple months ago. Always need to keep quiet after the buy and keep your fingers crossed that it actually shows up! You spoke too soon!
Great couponing! I already used it on all three of my accounts. I searched for cards under $4 with free shipping. ;)

Anything with a hint of a refractor line is capped at a 9.
These prized cards are more sensitive than you would think. Always need to hold the surface up to the light on an angle. Very prone to scratching. And huge issues with peeling as the surfaces front and back are a film.

A couple of coupons have been 15% before but very rare. Thanks for keeping this thread alive! My different accounts got this 13% promo at very different times - one at beginning of the day other at the very end

I created three different accounts with slightly varying names! ;). It works! I care even more about selling promos and it does great for those too. Last week it yielded 500 free listings on two different accounts.
If you google search for eBay bucks sign up that is how you enroll in the program which many of these discounts reference. eBay tends to do more of them for month end to pad their metrics such as sales volume and app utilization for mobile purchases.
There isn’t much interest. I think there are a lot more produced than just 100 sets. They are pretty available. Sorry! I passively chase the star factor limited exposures when I can find them at a good price.
I currently have a 98 Contenders Reg Exchange set (8 made!) up as a set break. Also will be putting up a Pennants Registered Exchange set up in the near future. Tough cards! Open to sale/trade direct if you see anything you like...
Not a big deal. You are far more exposed with PII in your daily life. Many shipping services require a phone number with shipment. With eBay shipment info as it comes to me as a seller post payment, it Automatically comes with the buyers info populated along with their phone number. Not a big...
Just got lucky and picked up a mis-listed non serial numbered purple Chipper Jones from the same set for a mere $2 with free shipping. A nice PC find ;)
Agreed - I am not even a basketball guy, but that reverse border screams reprint. Hopefully it cost $5 or less!

You know it’s weird about the 1993 Finest Refractor Juan. I bought the PWCC bulk refractor lot selling off Phil G’s huge refractor Collection, and specifically the 101-150 card number run. PWCC, who should know better, in the listing had 4 Juan’s shown. They didn’t have the right refractor sheen...
That’s fun! Chris is who I bought my non numbered Pacifics from a decade ago. Glad to see he still has them!
