Very Annoyed with 2016 Topps Factory Set Purchase...

With collectors so anal about everything matching, I'm not sure ten years from now if someone would want a stamped set versus just a regular set. I could be wrong. Lord knows depreciation on these sets are about 50%. I can't sell a 2010 factory set for $25 not including fees. Appreciate the...

Very Annoyed with 2016 Topps Factory Set Purchase...

We were at Target last night and dropped $50 on the new 2016 Topps retail factory set. They had two or three versions, one having the All-Star Game on the outside of the box. Nowhere on the box does it say that each card comes with a giant 2016 All-Star Stamp on it. I thought simply the box...

How does everyone store their cards? I'm assuming albums with 9-pocket pages, with the cards in order so the missing patterns are located in the right place?

I'm trying to figure out why a guy that spent years putting together an 8,100 card TEK set by scouring the internet and baseball card shops around the country all of sudden needs his wife, under an assumed name who created a fake account here, to buy 30 cards for him as a "present". That's...

Actually, the only guy here who has ever deleted his entire posts is Toga. Which, on its own, makes it interesting that someone like "Wayne" who just signed up to the forum would know how to do that.

I've also always found that "outing" or "highlighting" an auction a few hours before it ends is a shameless effort to get more eyes on the auction in hopes to drive up the price. Really tacky move. No need to do that.

Not sure what your point is. A low-numbered, highly-sought-after Jeter card was auctioned off for $157. What's so insane? It's Jeter, not AJ Hinch.

Erik Johnson was International League MVP (Pitcher) last year. If you're going to tank and give up a pitcher you paid $58 million a year ago for, you could get worse prospects back.

Ok, you jogged my memory....Jeter actually retired after 2014, not last year. Jeter and Konerko both retired at the end of 2014, so they're tied for #4 . Someone else retired at the end of 2015. Thome last played in 2012, but I think he "retired" in mid 2014, so he's not the answer.

Fun little trivia question based on that checklist- Of the 90 guys, I see two that are still active... Name them. Then tell me who would be the closest active guy at #3 before he retired. (ie, most recently retired player) Then tell me who would be the closest active guy at #4 before he...

The bigger question is why the Pirates got one of the five team factory sets in 2006.
