Ellis Burks. Growing up, I thought he was one of the most exciting Red Sox players to watch. He had solid defense, speed, and a fair amount of power.

As for current players, I would say Adam LaRoche. His swing is amazing.

As for what to do, what are you and your wife interested in? With limited time there's Fanueil Hall/Quincy Market, the Harbour, the North End, or the Common/Public Garden. I don't know how far ahead you need to purchase...
He's been on a tear as of late (almost .500 in the last 10 games.) I don't see any major spikes in his card values, however. I would say his investment days are over, but he has quite a few quality cards available at great prices for a PC. I've been looking to add a couple, too.
New additions to the Burks collection have been slow as of late. I did manage to pick up a couple of big ones lately, however. First is a GU bat from his '04 stint with the Red Sox. He only played in 11 games that season, so gamers are rare. Second is his 1989 Topps Heads Up Test...
