post your favorite card of your favorite player too:)

I was thirteen when I saw him play against the Yankees in the W.S. (2003) I loved his batting stance and they way he drove the ball for a twenty year old. Two years later I got his autograph after a

Mets game at Shea Stadium. He'll be my favorite player until he retires then I have to look for a new one lol

my favorite card was this one:

Well I was a Pujols fan. I had a Pujols jersey (custom) with a #68 because I became a Pujols fan in 2001 then about 2003 everyone who liked the Cardinals became a Pujols fan. It sucked because I dont like being a fan of a player that everyone likes.
Now I am a Daniel Descalso fan. I became a fan of his in ST 2010 because of how he played the game. Then in September of 2010 I was there for his MLB debut. Fastforward to May 3rd of 2011 once again I am in the crowd and he connected for his first MLB HR. So I looked to see if he had cards out I was shocked to find he had a decent amount of stuff out so I started collecting him. Now I am a huge fan of the guy. Fast forward to yesterday I was there for his first Postseason Homerun. I am Probably the biggest Descalso fan ever. If he ever googles his name I am sure he will come across the collection and be genuinely freaked out by how many cards of him I have.

Yount was a Brewer's main-stay before I was born. Growing up, understanding baseball more and more, Yount was the one that my dad always pointed to illustrate how things were done and why. I can remember him riding his bike around old County Stadium, the second MVP and staying up to watch him hit 3,000. He WAS Milwaukee baseball, and will always be the dean of sports in Milwaukee, maybe even in Wisconsin (yeah Starr, I said it!).

I was lucky enough to win this earlier this year:

I guess of active players it would be Jason Kubel. And the reason why is because he's awesome.

Seriously though probably Ruth or Gehrig followed by Mays and Ryan.

Right now, it is Pujols.

Partly because everyone loves to hate him now, and also because the next 5 - 10 years he is going to solidify himself as one of the greatest to ever play the game. Already he has proven himself as the greatest player of the past decade, thats a given, but when it is all said and done I think you are not going to be able to compile a top 5 HOF list without mentioning his name.

Ellis Burks. Growing up, I thought he was one of the most exciting Red Sox players to watch. He had solid defense, speed, and a fair amount of power.

My favorite Burks card, ever since it was pack pulled in '92:

As for current players, I would say Adam LaRoche. His swing is amazing.

Matt Capps /Chris Young [pitcher] ; both played minor league here and when players that big get on their knees to sign / talk to the small kids you have to admire them. They even signed for an old guy like me LOL

Current? Clay Buchholz. Have seen him pitch in person and couple times and he has always impressed me. Absolutely love his change-up (his out pitch...used to be mine, as well. :) )

I'll never understand why we traded for LaRoche, only to trade him for a sub-par first basemen a week later. Adam's swing seemed like a great fit at Fenway. Come to think of it, I'll probably never understand many of the bonehead moves that Theo made. ::shrug::

I never understood the trade a week later, either. I've heard rumors (online and radio) that the Sox may be going after him again.

I definitely wouldn't mind seeing that happen, especially being a huge upgrade from Loney and Gomez/Sands still being unknowns over a full season.

Warren Spahn!!!!! I was born in Milwaukee and grew up watching the Brew Crew with my Grandpa. He used to tell me stories about Brewers and old Milwaukee Braves greats, but Spahn was the one that always stood out. I remember when my Grandpa called him the "greatest southpaw to ever play the game." That was the first time I ever heard the word "southpaw." When he told me what it meant I felt like a baseball insider at just 7 or 8 years old. I'd later see a picture of Spahn whose peaceful smile and slightly crooked nose were reminiscent of my Grandpa's. To this day Spahn's image makes me feel like I'm sitting in my Grandpa's lap again, listening to him call Dale Sveum a Horse's Ass!
