They are completely different for series 1. For series 2, at least in my experience, people refer to the non-HR prefix cards as Premium Stock. Maybe different circles use different terminology. But the Hobby reserve cards with the HR prefix do carry a premium over the non-HR prefix cards.
The turth is a mixture of what delicious Bacon and RustyGreerFan said. Technically, their is no premium stock for series 2. However, for lack of something better to call them, the non-HR prefix series 2 cards are commonly referred to as the series 2 premium stock. The HR-prefix cards are...
This is actually not entirwly correct - DeliciousBacon is right in what he said above. For series 1 - what you are saying is correct, but not for series 2. For series 2, the non-HR prefix cards are the equivalent to the series 1 premium stock. The HR prefix cards are in much shorter supply...
Standard Shipping I believe it is $3.25 for the first 10 cards + .25 for each additional card. On the new COMC site that launched today, the 25 cents will be built into the cost of the card. So it will be a flat $3.00 per shipment. Add 20 cents for each card you want sent in a toploader. They...
You out offered me on that Larkin - Nice Pickup! Can't believe the prices these are bringing now. I wish I had cared to pick them up when they were first released - I remember them being considerably cheaper!
You are exactly right. Noone ever thinks about Ebay's costs. I am an accountant for a fortune 500 company and most people wouldn't believe what it costs to run a company that size. I don't think their fees are that bad when you consider the amazing market they are providing.
Picked up one of my 3 remaining needs from 1996. The Diamond Destiny Gold:

Now I only need these 2:
1996 Collector's Choice Gold Signature #401 Barry Larkin TC
1996 Select Certified Mirror Gold #41 Barry...
I know McGwire was the fastest to 400 HR with 4,726, just ahead of Ruth. There is a big drop off between them 2 and the next guy (Killebrew), so I would say one of those 2 was also the fastest to 300.
For me, I collect cards. I have no desire for an auto that is not issued in a pack. I think it just boils down to the individual preference. Some people will want autos on cards issued by companies, and other want In person autos. There will always be a demand for both. For players of...
No checklist - Just checked cards on Ebay to find the ones that had scans of the backs. Both of the white whales listed have pics of the backs of the cards.
Correct, looks like they are numbered like this:
"50 HR '95" - TTAR-25
"BASHING BELLE" - TTAR-24
"BIG BELLE" - TTAR-26
Also, looking at the 2 white whales that have been listed, I believe I was correct about there being more than one white whale for each card.
The second one listed looks like a...
Take Carlos Gonzalez for example:
TTAR-32 will have one saying
TTAR-33 will say something else
TTAR-34 and TTAR-35 will also say something different
Now, each one of these 4 cards will also have each of the parallels
Regular/18, Gold/9, Sapphire/3, Ruby/1, Wood/1, and White Whale/1
Also, keep...
That came from Chris Kurdelski, who was mentioned prior in this thread. Looking at the most recent trade list in his google docs spreadsheet, he has Mariano Rivera (or at least he did at one point).
So Far these 4 have refractor finishes on mine:
AL Central:
AL Wild Card:
NL Wild Card:
World Series:
The other 3 I have are AL East, AL West, and NL West. The have regular Non-Refractor finishes like this:
Congrats - That is always nice to find so many in one spot. I picked up about 25 from togaman back in January and I was thrilled. Now if I could just find someone that has 30 diffractor patterns!..... or just one on second thought :)
