Favorite auto collection: Pirates fan jump on in!
Talking with some of the other season ticket holders at Piratefest, it seemed like just about everyone was pissed about the cancellation of the alumni days and the lack of giveaways this year. The marketing and PR departments leave a lot to be desired.- subject to change

IP autograph tips needed before I head to Spring Training!
As mentioned, a light application of baby powder to any glossy cards is always a good idea. Blue tends to 'pop' the most on cards, imo, but that's just personal preference. I'd also suggest getting some photo corners and some type of heavy duty pages. It gives the players a more stable...- subject to change

Anyone from the Pittsburgh area know any good card shops?
It's been years since I have set foot in any a shop, so I don't know about the ones Tim and Dave mentioned. But if you're looking for singles and wax primarily, you may be better off checking out one of the local mall shows or the Robert Morris show in May. Autographs and toploaders...
Not a huge sample size, but I probably have around 30-50 Chrome/Finest cards signed, and haven't noticed any issues. I know what you're talking about though...I've noticed penny sleeves sometimes leave a residue on Chrome cards (or maybe it's peeling off the finish?). The oldest IP/TTM auto I...- subject to change

I think the level of protection ultimately depends on the value of the card or cards in question (whether that's sentimental value or monetary value). At one point, I had all of my autographs in penny sleeves and toploaders, but with over 2500 autographs, it was becoming expensive and taking up...- subject to change

Player Collectors: How many 2011 cards did you add?
I added a whopping 3 2011 Jack Wilson cards to my collection, the base Topps card, Topps Factory, and the Mariners team set card. I just don't have the interest in chasing the dozen or so different Topps parallels since he left the Pirates.- subject to change

2005 Topps Chrome Red Xfractor /65 SET IN TODAY!
That's a beautiful set...I really liked the red border/x-fractor pattern that year. I'd be interested in any of the Pirates in the set, if they're available.- subject to change

Pirates Caravan Autos - McCutchen, Lincoln, Blass, Leyva
The photocards are 4x6, and really are pretty nice. I like that the photos for current players are all action shots. The previous versions were always posed studio photos, and didn't look nearly as sharp.- subject to change

The Pirates are always full of boneheaded surprises it seems. I'm renewing my 20 game plan this year (though downgrading my seats), but only because we usually only go to 10 games anyway. Finally put together a site for my Pirates collection
Thanks! The most time consuming part is definitely scanning/cropping all the cards. Building the actual site was pretty fun, though it's admittedly not the prettiest thing on the planet. I'm hoping to clean up some of the graphics when I get the chance.- subject to change
