You aren't a magazine, periodical, or news entity, Brian. You are the producer of little pieces of cardboard/foilboard that feature autographs of the people directly pictured on the front of the cards. Being a magazine is how those scumbags at Rookie Review and other such "magazines" were able...
Not a question of blinders, Brian. A question of reality. They are making money off of the advertising, underwriting, and "nominal" per issue / subscription costs for stories and information they are producing. You are directly making money based on the images attached to the cardboard you...
You are talking about major companies who have existing relationships with those leagues. I'm sure they have some sort of an agreement in place in order to do so. Check some of the smaller fantasy sites, or better yet, set one up yourself and see how long it takes before you have lawyers at...
1). I'm all for more product and options. I love the old days when you had choices between Topps, Playoff, Fleer, Upper Deck, etc. In fact, I hate exclusive licenses (I stopped collecting new hockey cards when UD won the rights to the NHL).
2). My problem is the idea of using the first...

The idea that you would use the first amendment as a loophole to be able to use uniforms on a product you are making money off of is one of the most obscene things that I can think of. Have you no shame at all, Brian?
I can't wait for someone at Deadspin or some other news organization to...
Easy: Cubsfan13 . He sent me a PM about a card during the time I was not able to check into the boards, and I haven't been able to reach him about it. Having said that, if anyone has his email address or eBay ID, please send it to me so I can get in touch with him. Thanks!
While I agree that Halladay is a member of the Hall of Really Good, I do think Helton is a HOFer. Baseball Reference's tools seem to think so as well:

Whereas they don't for Halladay...
I don't see how much more innovation there can be when it comes to baseball cards. Signatures, GU pieces, tickets, even hair have been added to them. UD even came up with bug cards (which I'm surprised someone hasn't co-opted the holders in order to include bigger GU pieces like bat slivers...
Honestly it wasn't all that bad, $475, on eBay no less. It had been listed before and "sold" by the same seller once before but it must have been one of those "buy to reconsign" options I hear are all the rage... Still I thought it was a fair price for it.
There were a bunch of 75 Topps wax boxes and cases that hit the auction block after Fritsch's passing a few years back IIRC. Robert Edward Auction had a bunch from them as well as from the Conlon collection.
Edit - guess I got beaten to the punch by the rest of the board.
Wow, Brian, what a concept. People paying good $ for the good cards or "hits" in a product. I never would have thought of that. Ideas like that will revolutionize this industry...
Having gotten my snarky side out, it is nice to see the Mike Witt signed cards in the product, along with...
Not quite sure how well it's really going. Seems like most are either getting one bid or no bids at all, even for the #'d to 5:

What do you guys make of the proof cards that are up for sale on eBay:

There seem to be a few of them. I wonder how they figure in with the test card, especially with the...
