Prospects that will take 5 years or more?
Generally unless the guy was totally off the radar, prospects that take 5 years never recover. Think Gordon, Porcello now, etc. Porcello has been dominant since his blow up in LA. Yet the hype is gone, and never coming back. -

So, what's worse? Swept by Marlins or by Astros?
I know the Marlins record is worse, but at least they have some players on their team (one big one hurt) that are good. The Astros have Altuve, and a whole lot of nothing. They don't even have future pieces like the Marlins seem to have. It reminds me of the late 90s early 00s Tigers teams... -

MLB is in a no win situation. It looks bad when you bust a lot of guys, and it looks bad to turn the other way at this point. Somehow the NFL has stayed out of it all by just stating a guy is suspended for "substance abuse", which people don't seem to look into any further. -

I was thinking the same thing. Without positive tests it might be difficult to do anything with any info gained from this. Other than to scrutinize the players even closer, and maybe have some failed testing eventually. -

I would kinda agree, but in the sense that's he's not American. I don't think people care about race, but its difficult to connect when a guy doesn't speak English as his first language. I watch all the games and tons of coverage of the Tigers, and Miggy doesn't get interviewed nearly as much... -

Unless you clearly have a stud I don't understand why teams try to force a closer. Why not just go to the pen bring in whoever, if he has it that day stick with him. If he doesn't, bring in someone else when he gets in trouble. It seems like everyone is trying to make the Marmols and Axfords... -

I think it's funny everyone assumes people know the value of particular cards. Some people aren't into cards. If I found a huge box of art work I wouldn't know what I'm looking at. Some people don't want to waste their time finding out. Especially people who already have money. -

I think more than anything just being part of another team at any point effects value to some extent. Almost every team's legends played their entire careers with one team. Maybe it's just a gut feeling, but I feel like it's likely a bad sign if a guy gets traded while in the minors. It makes... -
