First noteworthy pickup in a few months. Rookie year design, Topps couldn't find a back flip picture, so they settled for a bat flip here.
2005 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites Rainbow Autographs Ozzie Smith #d 1/10 (Jersey Number!)
Thank you! I'm usually not this lucky either, found these at the end of the show when I circled back to the same table. Thought the base might be a $5 card and chrome a $25 card. Value is more than I would have guessed.
Open to trade, sale if you're interested. Will post better scans eventually.
First show in 10 months, but first time doing common boxes in ages, over 7-8 years. Lot of fun. Few PC cards, mostly traders.
2001 Donruss Anniversary Bernie Williams RC $5 (PC)
2011 Marquee Logan Morrison/10 $10 -- inaugural set, figured decent tradebait
1960s Yankees Commons -- $5, need the...
2003 Topps Trademark Variation with the Throwback Logo -- Just have the one, partial parallel to the set. Super tough to find. Would love to track down the other Yankees -- Jeter, Clemens, and Giambi.
1986 Henson Company Christmas Card signed by Jim Henson -- Couldn't pass it up for $100 shipped. His signatures typically go for much more. As it is on a company holiday card, figured it has a good shot at being authentic. Still on the lookout for a complete Henson signature with Kermit sketch...
The sides appear to have a mirror finish rather than the matte gray. That comes through on the picture, I don't think that can be done with just camera angle and filters. Perhaps a different camera angle could have brought out more of the shine than the scanner.
These were not labeled as...
Love the 1997 EX-2000 set, somehow I wasn't aware of that design until recently. Need to find some Yankees and Knicks. The Ewing looks specially sharp. I wasn't collecting then, I need to go through the sets that didn't feature O'Neill. The UD3 design is also cool. Bummed to miss out on some of...
One of my bigger maildays
1998 Donruss Signature Paul O'Neill Preview -- first one I've seen in 20 years. I imagine it was backdoored
2003 UD Exquisite Patrick Ewing Auto /100 -- One of my grails, wish I had bought one sooner. Glad to have one in the collection. Few of these have...
2023 Topps Nestor Cortes 1988 Topps Autograph -- Digging the design this year, I like how the pictures are different even between the 1988 insert and autograph. I was after the autograph, it's his first on-card auto. The other two are bonus.
Have a similar 1987 David Cone auto from last year...
Good luck with the chase! I feel in 7-10 years, prices will be down considerably as these will be SSPs of regular players rather than legends like Ruth, Gehrig, and Mantle. Plus, if this trend continues with future Topps releases, people will stop caring and they will be available cheap enough.
At a crossroads with collecting all SP and SSP Yankees variations which I've attempted to do until 2022. I've even got the 2010 Pie in the Face Yankees set. Seemed crazy for the time, but this is just nuts.
Technically variations will become a parallel starting this year as it for all 330...
Yes, unfortunately you are correct, but I have tried my best to avoid getting one after 20 years of collecting him!
I have personally considered the 1993 Bowman as his rookie card, it is my favorite Rivera release of all-time:
Picked this up 10 years ago now, overpaid then due to the early...
1999 UD Victory Paul O'Neill & Alfonso Soriano Rookie Misprint Error Card -- Have been on the hunt for a singular Soriano rookie, this misprint is one which only an O'Neill collector would appreciate.
I've thought about getting a single rookie from each year spanning from 1990, the year I...
2005 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites Rainbow Foil #FFA-JB Johnny Bench /10 -- Sharp looking card with the 1975 design, it just screams Big Red Machine with the vintage pennant on the foreground.
2008 In the Game Hockey Brian Leetch 1994 ASG Game Used Letterman Patch 1/1 -- First initial from an...
2003 Topps All-Star Futures Game #1 Alfonso Soriano -- Part of a six-card set that was given to each attendee of the 2003 All-Star Game Futures Game and only available as a stadium give-away. One of my first saved searches on eBay, doesn't pop up often.
Can't fault an amateur, probably an oversight. This type of thing can easily slip by even professionals in the hobby.

1998 Topps Gallery Players Private Issues 100 Points Paul O'Neill -- First O'Neill pick up of the year. Not typically a card worth posting, but completes the 1998 Gallery run of all point variations 25, 50, 75, and 100 for me. Mainly, I wanted to give thanks to the seller, ksbcards. It was a...
Setting a modest goal to pick up about 52 cards over the year, one per week. Spend more time reading sports books, comics and organize what I already own. Have a pile of books and comics yet to be opened and cards waiting to be sorted.
Collecting
1. Paul O'Neill -- add 25 cards.
2. Yankees...
