So, I was cruising around ebay and decided to check out completed auctions for Bubba's chrome autos...
BAM, $935 for a Orange Ref BGS 9.5!
Also, his chrome autos BGS 9.5's are STRONG at $100
What's the facination with Bubba...is it the first name, is it because he's a Royals prospect, is he...
What a beautiful day in the NYC area (at least the afternoon) so why not hit up a card show??
Ok, got there around 1 pm and the place was packed! Lots of people, lots of cards, lots of everything! Rather than do those boring paragraph reviews I usually do, let's do some bullet points:
Pros:
*...
Age: 18
Avg: .295
G: 38
AB: 146
R: 24
H: 43
2B: 15
3B: 1
HR: 6
RBI: 34
BB: 14
K: 40
22 of his 43 hits are for extra bases! I know he has to cut down on the K's but...good stats for his age?
I'm off to the ECN! Can't wait! :)
The reason I ask is that when I was going through some prospect cards at the National, a guy came up and asked the guy next to me if "you guys (meaning prospectors) have personal collections at all?" The guy responded "hellz no! buy and sell baby, buy and sell!".
I'm a prospector but I still...
Mine would have to be the Jake Skole 2010 BDP Superfractor Auto from a BGS 8.5 (graded in 2010) to BGS 9.5 (graded recently). The card is not mine (I just follow these 2010 BDP superfractors).
One full grade! Anyone else?
Got this for $595 (after selling some cards). I would rate this as an OK break.
Box 1:
Box 2 (crazy to pull the Ripken in Baltimore!):
Box 3 (Pujols is /10):
Is it so wrong to be excited for a month to attend this? Well, I was! I saved up and was ready to just go and spend it all.
It was more convenient and cost efficient for me to take the bus down (and the extra $$ I save, I can use towards cards!), so I took the Bolt bus down for like $38 round...

I'm thinking $2500+. What do you guys think?
This card is /5...and yet there are 6 BGS 9.5's? What's up?
Is it possible that someone re-graded a BGS 9.5 to get another BGS 9.5?!
Oh, and the Superfractor Auto has been graded TWICE as a BGS 9...darn those re-subs! lol
As I've been doing the last few years, I'm holding a futures game contest. It's pretty simple...guess the game MVP and you win a prize! The prize...a futures game alum:
Rules:
* You can guess only one player.
* You can edit as much as you want UNTIL 12 noon NY time this Sunday
* I'm running...
do you notice any effect on the raw cards considering that you have graded ones on sale as well? Do you feel that buyers may bid lower or shy away thinking that there is "something wrong" with the raw card or else it would have been slabbed?
Or, do you see no difference at all in ending prices...
This latest earning period ends Saturday...how much ya got?
I'm at $29.45 and hoping to buy some more this week and maybe ebay will have a "double bucks" day Friday or Saturday. :D
